Replying to: aron2 (Mar 07, 2007 9:20 pm) One thing for sure I would do is when you get the Customer Satisfaction Survey in the mail about your purchase experience with your dealership, tell it as is and how your were treated. The second thing I would do is to insist on getting a free loaner car while your's is in the shop; perhaps first findout from your GM contact on how long this recall repair will actually take, so you get an idea if your dealership is being fair to you priority wise by keeping your car for the entire day. Third, if you have a choice, think about getting your Yukon fixed else where. Good Luck to you!

Replying to: aron2 (Mar 07, 2007 9:20 pm) aron2, I just call my dealership about the Recall ID #07007 (which is about the Battery Rundown Protection Re-program of the BCM), I was told it should only take about one hour; but, in some cases they have ran in to minor issues where they had to re-do the programming a second time, so 2 hours at the most. The 6.2 with the 6 speed is awesome when driven aggressively and with a light foot I get 17+ average mpg. Not fantastic mileage, but I'm pleased considering the size and weight of the vehicle. Thus I am wondering when the 2008's will be out, and if they will incorporate the six speed. I test drove the '07 with the four speed really did not feel it was adequate.   Glad to hear you are enjoying your vehicle. Some say 08 and others say not before 09.   "I test drove the '07 with the four speed really did not feel it was adequate. "   If you thought the 5.3L wasn't adequate, I don't know if a 6spd is going to change your opinion. The six speed will have one gear lower than the current four and one more OD gear. It will be a little quicker off the line but it will still be a mid-range dog as the middle gears will essentially be unchanged. I've had my 2007 Tahoe now for almost 8 months. I have a wee bit over 25,000 miles on it. 80% of that is highway mileage. The best long distance mileage I've seen is about 19.5 MPG on a trip from New York to Florida and back. I made the same trip in my '96 Yukon several times and averaged as good as 24.8 MPG. I was able to go almost 600 miles on a tank of regular gas. Both vehicles have the same 350 CI engine and they also had the same rear end axel ratio. So.. My question is.. why did I get so much better gas mileage on the Yukon?? When I sold it, it had 143,000 miles on it.. Could it be my '07 Tahoe isn't really broken it yet?? Maybe I can expect better mileage after 50,000 miles?? What do you all think???
