Do not go to Westside Chevrolet in Katy, TX. Can you say LOUSY?? They sold me a Tahoe with a dent in the hood and a scratch above the rear left weel well. They would not switch the Tahoe out and told me I had to come back on a Tuesday when the "dent man" was there to pull it out. I live in Austin, so they couldn't even arrange something at a dealership there. I had to take time off work, drive 2 hrs to katy to have it repaired and then drive back.. They SUCK!!

I'm just curious about why you bought a Tahoe with a dent in the hood and a scratch above the left wheel well.

Hum...did you notice the damage before you purchased? Why didn't you buy one that was 'perfect'? You should have worked out the details before you bought the Tahoe.

Sounds like it's a two hour drive to the dealer so if you have to go after work, chances are the light isn't that good. Best to pick up a new car in the bright daylight, but it's not always possible. Probably the best practice is to insist on washing your new car in the dealer lot before giving them the check and find every little ding that way (you know you're going to wash it the first week anyway!).

More potential buyers will see likely see your good/bad dealer reports if you post them in the Chevy Tahoe: Prices Paid & Buying Experiences and Chevy Suburban: Prices Paid & Buying Experiences discussions.

Ladies and Gents,
Just had to share the good news, I called my salesman today ( he has been on vacation the last 5 days) to see if everything was on track for the build of my 2007 Tahoe LT3 w/ everything. When he said, "Well, I just got in and don't see anything here. Oh wait, you ordered the Tahoe, right? The Dark Blue Tahoe?" To which I said jokingly, "No I ordered the Green one." He said, "Oh well I guess this isn't yours then, no seriously it just came in yesterday; it is here and can be picked up whenever you want. I just need to get it prepped and get the paperwork done. Are you transfering tags?

Oh yeah, yesterday was my girfriend B-day and the day my other baby came in. I just asked my boss if I could leave a little early to go get it, he said I cooooooould. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTT. I just need to see if the dealership will give me close to what I want for my trade, otherwise I am heading to CarMax and selling it there tonight. I will let you all know tomorrow how good it feels; also for those interested in the Nav/DVD bypass I think I may get it put in this weekend. Will let you know how it works afterwards. Hot Dam, I am one happy guy right now.

I have had my 2007 Yukon Denali for 1 week now and I can tell you it is awesome. She is black with ebony interior. I ordered her the first week of June and she just came in. I ordered the power assisted running boards, rear bench seat(for my son) NAV & rear DVD, 20" rims. I think the only option I didn't order was the engine block heater (I live in Texas).

I had a 2002 Yukon Denali that was black with the tan interior and I must tell you that compared to the 2007, it drives like a wagon. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 2002, but it wasn't until I test drove the 2007's that I realized the improvements that GM had put into the new models.

I want to thank everyone that has posted for so many months as this has helped my anal personality find out more information than the dealership could give me on my order.

I must post my few comments about things that I read that I have & have not found to be true in my new Denali:

Paint.....Door Jam paint looks good, however I too also notice the primer in the engine bay. Probably would have never noticed in my 2002, however there is so much open space in the bay of the 2007 that it is easy to see the engine compartment walls.

Headrests that move???....mine have a button on the R hand side that allow me to move my headrest forward and backward

Seats are more uncomfortable than the previous model.....I must agree with this one....Previous model seats are more comfortable, however they did not hold up well to the daily dragging in and out my rear end over the leather and wear is quite evident. The new seats remind me of my wife's Lexus and a Volvo that I used to own. The underlying foam is stiffer than previously used that I am assuming will hold up better over time (we shall see).

Gas mileage....only 380 miles....not enough to make an educated assessment...will get back with you.

XM Radio...this is my first car with this, and I haven't spent a lot of time with it, but I am noticing that sometimes it doesn't seem to want grab all of the channels or let me go back to the XM Menu...probably user error.

MP3 Disc Scanning.......By the time it reads the disc, I am almost at my destination. This seems to take a while. It beats regular CD's however, I assumed it would be faster. I am going to get an IPOD Stereo Interface installed soon and keep it mounted in my center console, this will hopefully be a faster option.

Center Console not locking.....this needs to be addressed by GM....I too carry a firearm in my vehicle, and I typically lock it up anytime someone else is going to be in my car(carwash, valet, etc). I saw the center console lock vault that someone recommended, however for me...it seemed cumbersome to handle while I was driving. At the end of the day, I will probably quit carrying a gun in my car anyway since my son is now 3 and likes to open drawers etc. Back to the safe it goes.

Fit and Finish complaints.....it's only been a week, but I don't have one. Materials are top notch (A Bentley it is not...but it didn't cost that much either). The finish is really tight, no visible gaps on the interior...(try prying off the trim around the radio....I finally gave up and will take it to a professional to install my phone mount). Flawless leather, stitching, carpets.

Power retractable mirrors....great feature (especially if you have ever whacked your shoulder squeezing between 2 cars in your garage)

Mud Flaps......this had to be some kind of oversight or will be a 2008 item. Due to the design, all kinds of road crap is thrown up onto the sides. Still trying to figure out how I am going to handle this. With the Power Retractable Running Boards it kind of slows me down for options. I you guys hear of anything, please pass it on.

HomeLink....has a much better range than my 2002.

Sun Visors....2002 model had a slide out that let you extend your visor to catch sun coming in at the 'crack' and also an extra visor for the front when your visor is on the side. 2007 model only has one visor with no slideout or extra visor. My morning commute always has the sun coming in on the drivers side, just out of the range of normal visor.

Exhaust....I know many have upgraded, and I can only imagine how sweet it sounds, but I am still loving the way the standard exhaust sounds.....Nothing beats the sound of an American V8.

I know it is long winded, but my wife has tired of hearing about all of the cool stuff I have noticed about my new ride and I needed to share with someone. Thanks again for all else that have shared.

One comment on the visors... You can slide the visor along it's rod in order to cover the spots that seem out of reach.

Try it.

I'm came of an 02 Tahoe to my now 07 Denali XL of 2-3 months. Rate the truck a 8 out of 10 and overall very happy.

My gripes:

Little low on power during acceleration, obviously its a size issue but my tahoe had the 4.10 gears or something and acceleration was a lot more instant feeling compared to the Denali's even though it has a larger engine.

No storage compartments. How about a place for the rear seat headphones? How about a CD or DVD holder, sunglass holder, coin holder? How about "ANY" storage compartments in the back? It's borderline criminal.

No unlock button for the doors at the tailgate anymore.

Some driveline clunk while going 5-10 mph in parking lots.

Some piston slap or similar noise when engine is cold.

CD's can not be played up front while a DVD is playing (at least with Nav system).

Fake wood is so glossy is shows scratches easily. They polish out easily with Mothers plastic polish though.

Floor matts are the thinest I've ever seen, and this is a $50K vehicle?

Overall a huge improvement, but there are some things I miss that were on the old truck. Hoepfully they address some of these in future releases as some like the lack of storage are laughable.
