I agree on the 5.3, unless GM has found a way to get more low rpm torque, the 5.3 just isn't strong enough for a Suburban. A 6 speed trans could possibly help by offering more gear ratios. It's adequate for hauling people, but once I put my 5000lb boat on back and start hitting the hills, it gets weak fast.
The main reason I went with a Suburban over the Tahoe was the extra wheel base for towing stability and the extra room behind the 3rd row which comes in handy when someone needs to sit back there and I need cargo space as well.

I suspect that part of the reason for that was because the Accord was braking, thus causing its front end to dive. The Accord already has a relatively low front end. Combine that with some dive and the hood of the Accord hit the undercarriage of Tahoe...

One time I rear-ended a Jeep Grand Cherokee in a Geo Metro. Only going about 5 mph, but it wasn't pretty. Jeep had a little scuff, my hood was all wrinkled up. Stupid Geo. Maybe that's why I chose a Yukon XL, repressed anger about being crammed into a Geo through my college years.

Just saw a load of the new body style on I40 in Arkansas on Tuesday. I drove along side for about a half mile. They were all Tahoes. They really look smaller but it is likely just an ilusion with the new styling.

I thought there was one behind me on the road yesterday. Turns out it was a new Trailblazer. I think they look too much alike.

They do look a lot alike. The Trailblazer is what I thought they were till I got closer.

Does that mean they were pre-production for a show?
