Recall Notice for HVAC system on '07's by rockin_ltz

Just wanted to let everyone know that there has been some sort of recall notice sent out dealing with the A/C system on the '07 Tahoes .

I've had my LTZ in the shop 4 times now for an unrelated issue (flirting with the Lemon Law here in Florida )...And just yesterday while it was there, they said they also "Reprogramed HVAC Module Per Campaign" (this is what shows on my copy of the work order they gave to me). This is a recall that has just been put out...So you guys (gals) may be hearing more about it.

Just thought I'd let everyone know..........

When my 2007 LT3 was in the shop the dealer "fixed" my Tahoe. He said the recall is just a software fix. Before the fix if the temperature was below 32 degrees the air conditioner would shut off automatically. After the software upgrade the system will respond to all inputs.

rockin_ltz - I'm interested in knowing what your vehicle was in the shop for. It wasn't tied to the tranmission in any way was it?

Hawkeye...No it wasn't my transmission but my ABS/Stabilitrac/Traction Control system. Have had issues with my ABS and Stabilitrac warning lights coming on for no reason and the message "service stabilitrac" and "service traction control" appearing in the message center. They (GM) finally decided to try and fix it right since I had initiated the Lemon Law process here in Florida. They ended up replacing a computer module of some sorts and will hopefully cure the problem. We'll see.....

Nav DVD Always running? by smedlotoys

I've been driving my 2007 Yukon XL for four days now. I haven't hit 200 miles yet, and have no complaints. I have one curiosity about the Nav system though. I notice that the Nav DVD always seems to be spinning, even when the truck has been off for a long time. I've heard it when getting into the truck the last three mornings after it's been sitting in the garage all night. Has anybody else noticed this?

The front bowtie's not too tough to remove. If you reach down behind the grill, (which is a lot easier if you loosen or remove the six bolts across the top) you'll feel three posts coming through. The outer two posts are the only ones that matter. They have small press nuts on them. Remove those. Next step is just prying the gold bowtie off. It separates from the car just behind the black trim. In other words, the gold and black are one piece, so you want to be prying between the black and the chrome. GM put some double-stick tape back there, but it comes away without much struggle.

Also, my chrome replacement was considerably smaller than the OEM gold-and-black. But it fit really nicely into a small groove you'll discover when you get the gold one off.

The bowtie on the tailgate is just taped on. No nuts to contend with. But there are two small posts that snug into two small holes.

Now here's my question for you. Did you find a chrome bowtie for the rear, 'cause I'm still looking...?

Smedlotoys--

My Nav DVD does the same thing. I'll hear it working away at all hours. I talked to the dealer. They gave me a GM Service Bulletin. Here's what it says:

"It is normal operation after the RKE (remote) is used to unlock the vehicle or the driver's door is opened. This noise will also be heard during normal vehicle use. The noise is also normal operation for up to three minutes after the vehicle is turned off and the driver's door has been opened and closed."

Don't know if this really explains it. I'll have to try checking on it some morning by opening up the passenger's side door. Who knows...?

The story I've heard re: bowties is that GM hasn't licensed anyone for the new ones yet and has told those mfg that were making them to stop. Those mfg thought that their old license was good for the new models. But as we know, GM has now decided to get into the aftermarket accessory arena. Of course their stuff will probably be higher than the others was. Don't know if GM will license anyone or not.

Has anyone figured out yet how to bypass/hack the Navigation DVD player so that you can watch movie's while the tahoe is in drive?
