I was wondering if anybody else has noticed that whenever they put their A/C in the "recycle air" mode...You can still smell the air from outside? In all my prior and current vehicles (Honda and Ford) whenever the air was in this mode it entirely eliminated ANY outside air from coming in. The reason I ask is because when I'm following another vehicle that has a bad exhaust problem or going through an area where the outside air is being polluted...I can still smell the odor!! I have never had this problem before with my other vehicles and my dealer says that it's "normal"! Based on some of the other answers they have given me...I don't really believe them. Can somebody help me out here as I really don't think I should be smelling anything (or maybe just BARELY smelling it) when my A/C is in the recycle mode. Thanks in advance for anybody's help with this..........

Replying to: rockin_ltz (Apr 18, 2006 5:02 pm) On my wife's little BMW X3, the air is drawn in under the windshield, because everytime we hit the washer's, we smell the fluid immediately. It may be that the GM SUV's are pulling fresh air from an area that is susceptible to vehicle exhaust in front of you. Who knows. Dave |
