Well, the consumer advocates here will tell you that negotiating by payment is a bad idea.
Although, in thsi case I don't think it is going to matter.
Hitting 450/mo isn't going to be easy.

As for the independent leasing company, yes you did pay more than by going thru the dealer.
The lease co had to buy the car from the dealer, who made money on the transaction, and then the lease co marked the car up to you.
It is RARE that an independent leasing co or broker has more lenders than a dealer does.

Is your target of $450/month with $0 drive off? Last month I was offered $478/month for 24 months 0 drive off on a MSRP $42625 XC90. This month the quote goes up to $487/month. This is before tax too. $450/month seems very low unless it is after a down payment.

My target would be with just first month payment and a few fees perhaps, but I am seeing that is a big ambitious to get a payment as low as $450 on such an expensive car. I could possibly go to $480 or so. Does it seem the deals are better on the shorter leases? I don't mind doing a 48 month lease, I had a 54 on my van that I now realize I overpaid on ;o) Thanks for the information on the independent leasers - I didn't realize that.

As to negotiating, how does that work? should I go with the lease ad they have, and work up, b/c rather than negotiating price, I have heard there are incentives on leasing, and shouldn't you just take those?

I've probably been researching too much and am confused at the moment.

Yep,the 07 leases thru VFNA are gone,and the 08's aren't as aggressive.

Well, today I was offered a lease of $635/month with $5,000 down on an 2008 XC 90 with the versatility and premier packages, MSRP of $43,000. I guess my hopes of getting one under $500 won't work! LOL.

$635/month with $5000 down on a lease?? Is it with 30k miles per year or something like that? For the 08 XC90 with versatility and premium packages, I was quoted $487+tax/month with $0 drive off, 24 months, 10.5k miles/year.

Nope. Found from my independent lease co. that I would be rolling about $2800 into the lease from my trade-in, so that kills me, and I'll just wait until the lease is up next July (and probably drool over every XC 90 I see). thought I had enough value to trade in. That is a good payment quote you received.

I am looking at a new 2007 XC90 Sport and it would be greatly appreciated if someone could let me know the current lease rates (money factor and residual). I would want the values for a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles a year. Thank you.
