It seems like the Sign and Drive promotion is over. The new lease offer has a $2.9K drive off instead of $0. The monthy payment is cheaper, but last month's deal is better.

Hi there - I have made the mistake of falling in love with an XC90. I have to see if I can sell off my lease Honda Odyssey first, but if I can pull it off, am ready to lease an XC90. I know the payment range I want, is it acceptable nowadays to simply negotiate to get that price, if possible? The one we want is MSRP of $43,000, and would like to pay not more than $450/month. We haven't begun discussing payments till we get our van evaluated. Also, any opinion as to whether going through the dealership is better than an independent leasing company? We did that last time, and got what we wanted, but we didn't get the leasing details and I think we overpaid, but I've heard that they have more banks at their option to finance? Thanks!

As for the independent leasing company, yes you did pay more than by going thru the dealer. The lease co had to buy the car from the dealer, who made money on the transaction, and then the lease co marked the car up to you. It is RARE that an independent leasing co or broker has more lenders than a dealer does. |
