Lease Deal - Comments? by jim_thomas

Hi,

Here is my initial offer from a dealer in Update NY for a 24 month lease on a base Black S80 3.2 with the climate package. $4,700 down, $399 / month. This is +$20 / month over the base offer on the Volvo website for the Climate Package. The down payment consists of:
First Payment $399.98

Taxes $1027.93
Dealer Fees $67.50

Acquisition Fee $895.00

Cap Reduction $2309.59

My take is regardless of selling price, rv, lease rate factor, etc., there should be an amount to target as total outlay. Is $13,877 a good number over 24 months (~$578 / month)?

Thanks...

I don't know if, or how much the car has gone up in the last few months, but I got the exact same car at the end of Feb., and I'm not paying anywhere near those numbers. How far are you upstate? If you can come down to LI, I don't think you'll see numbers that high.

Problem is that residuals have gone down big time, plus money factors have gone up. Volvo needs to compensate for the falling dollar.

Here is my latest deal as the 24 month lease by Volvo didn't make too much sense:

36 months and 12K miles for 2008 Volvo S80 with metallic paint, climate, park assist, and satellite prep:

Cap Cost $33,261
Resid $19,524
Acquisition $595
Tax 8%
Rate 4.5%

Nothing down, all in monthly cost $555 / month. I cannot get their numbers to match any lease calculator online, but I see another dealer's deal that looks superior - http://www.mtkiscovolvo.com/lease/dsp_leasespecial.cfm?id=5

I am thinking that ~$520 seems more reasonable, but I cannot ferret out the place where the number was inflated. Thoughts?

Hey Jabber. According to the latest information that I have seen, Volvo's current cash incentives for leases of the through independent banks are $3,250 on the 2008 S80 T6 and $5,750 on the S80 V8.

Hi sweeney4. The only S80 trim level that Volvo is providing lease support on right now is the base 3.2 model. Consumers who lease one through Volvo Finance right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year can use a buy rate lease money factor and residual value of .00142 and 50%. In addition to this special lease program, Volvo is providing a $3,250 cash incentive on leases of this car through Volvo Finance. If you want to lease any other version of the S80, you will be better off doing so through an independent bank.

How much my monthy lease payment should be if I want to lease 2008 T6 S80 with no additional options? Lease for 36 months with total down of $2000 (to cover tax in Texas and fees).

I apologize for this general question but I would like to have a number to start with dealer I am visiting this week.

Hi Car_man:
Edmunds mentions that the current cash incentive is $4000 on all trims, what do you think?
