Well, leases that have a sale price around I thiink..$22k or so, usually have a payment of around $300, for instants my payment are $319 including tax and my sale price was around that mark. I have had 2 leases now, and have had pretty much the same payment. Your not too far off at all, but I do think you could see how good your sale price is. Your pretty much on target, but if you can pull a bit harder, than I think you could do slightly better. Check it all out here on Edmunds, look up new car prices, sale and invoice prices for the car. I think your on to a good deal though. Let us know. |

Now is not the time for anyone to be putting that much down on a car, if you decide to take a loan on the car, and keep it for years, than that would be better. For every $1k=$20-30 off your payments or added back. What was your sale price for the S model? That will tell you if they are working for you or against you.

Replying to: bvdj84 (Jun 13, 2009 4:44 pm) To clarify-It's automatic, not a manual, so it's a little pricier. Since it's a California edition, it also includes Bluetooth, spoiler, alloy wheels and Ipod Adapter. My sale price is $19,815. I'm actually leasing here in California because I'll be here exactly three years and don't want to have to pay to ship a car back to New York (where I'm from). I want the barebones Jetta and pay the minimum I can for the 3 years and then give it back. 0% chance of me keeping the car. I can also pay it all up front if that made sense economically. Will ask for the regular S edition and not the California edition if it can save me money.
