Does anyone know where you can find stats on the number of TDIs sold in the US since the tax credit went into effect? Wondering where things are re: 60,000 mark.

Thanks,
KH

I am not sure I will look at the TDI anymore, because its price is a bit higher, plus lease numbers apparently are standard. Nothing special. Plus, our deals has them loaded up, bringing the price to $26k. Of course that is MSRP.

I am very interested in the Wolfsburg Edition in RED.

The 2.0T is awesome!

Just got mine last night. Here's the terms

Fully loaded 2009 Jetta SE w/6spd auto-tiptronic (wife can't drive stick)/ipod adapter

I based the deal on the nationwide lease offer from vw.com against the manual S model and worked from there

-$0 money down - you'll notice on the website that they require $2499 down but I worked that into the monthly cause I don't want to give that cash upfront. Many people are fooled by this cause they think about the lower monthly but don't realize that they are already paying that money upfront anyway if they give the down.
-$289 per month
-36mos/12K per year
- I was not charged for the ipod adapter and dealer charge. Not sure why though, maybe because it was late friday night and they needed to go??
- the monthly could have been lower ($30 less per month) if I got the manual transmission
- I also paid for the aquisition fees upfront (tax, dmv, etc.)
- the residual value is 11.5K at 36mos/the cap cost 20K/the money factor was the standard rate for the special lease offer.

2009 Jetta 2.5 S Manual by surftwenty2

Hey guys,

I am a recent college grad looking for cheap and reliable transportation, so the basic Jetta seems to fit the bill. I wanted to know if this is a good deal:

2009 Jetta 2.5 S Manual
$4500 trade-in (2001 Explorer Sport Trac w/ 75,000 miles)
$0 cash down
$199/month (includes tax)
36 month/12,000 miles

**also, are dealers generally willing to order a specific color for a leased car? I really want the salsa red, but the dealer only has white in-stock. Is it reasonable for me to ask for the red, or would I just have to take what is on the lot?

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it!

VW's national ad on the 2009 Jetta S with manual transmission is $2500 due at signing, 36 months 12,000 miles per year, $179/mth plus tax. Sounds like they are either not giving you $4500 for the trade or they are keeping over $1500 of its value for their profit. Make sure they adhere to the national lease and fully disclose your actual trade value. Lastly, yes it is reasonable to ask them to get a red car.

Why is VW not offering better incentives anyway? The offered amazing deals last year of 08 during the Spring. I was offered a lease deal on a Passat that was essentially the price of a Jetta. But, something kept me from moving on the deal... but it was a great deal.

Their lease deals are not much to look at. Of course always look at them with $0 down attitude.

People seem to be getting decent deals, but holding on to their cars is not a good practice right now. Move them VW!

Trying to decide between between Mazda3 I touring 10 and Jetta S 09. Got back from VW dealer with a dealer:
MSRP: 18,215
Selling: 16,920
NY Tax: 8.75 + 254.00 (T&R)
 $1,200 down and $240 a month for 36 months money factor .00117 12,000k miles
plus I qualify for student discount (no deposit and first payment)

Just some food for thought.
