Does anyone know where you can find stats on the number of TDIs sold in the US since the tax credit went into effect? Wondering where things are re: 60,000 mark. Thanks, KH

Replying to: ks_bay (Jun 05, 2009 12:19 pm) Fully loaded 2009 Jetta SE w/6spd auto-tiptronic (wife can't drive stick)/ipod adapter I based the deal on the nationwide lease offer from vw.com against the manual S model and worked from there -$0 money down - you'll notice on the website that they require $2499 down but I worked that into the monthly cause I don't want to give that cash upfront. Many people are fooled by this cause they think about the lower monthly but don't realize that they are already paying that money upfront anyway if they give the down. -$289 per month -36mos/12K per year - I was not charged for the ipod adapter and dealer charge. Not sure why though, maybe because it was late friday night and they needed to go?? - the monthly could have been lower ($30 less per month) if I got the manual transmission - I also paid for the aquisition fees upfront (tax, dmv, etc.) - the residual value is 11.5K at 36mos/the cap cost 20K/the money factor was the standard rate for the special lease offer.

Hey guys, I am a recent college grad looking for cheap and reliable transportation, so the basic Jetta seems to fit the bill. I wanted to know if this is a good deal: 2009 Jetta 2.5 S Manual $4500 trade-in (2001 Explorer Sport Trac w/ 75,000 miles) $0 cash down $199/month (includes tax) 36 month/12,000 miles **also, are dealers generally willing to order a specific color for a leased car? I really want the salsa red, but the dealer only has white in-stock. Is it reasonable for me to ask for the red, or would I just have to take what is on the lot? Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it!
