The most important numbrs to focus on when leasing are your vehicle's selling price and the money factor that the dealer is using to calculate its monthly payment.   Let us know what the selling price of the Jetta is in relation to its MSRP or dealer invoice price and I'm sure that either myself or another knowledgeable community member will be happy to let you know what they think.   As far as the money factor goes, VW Credit's current buy rate lease money factor for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Jetta Sedan S is .00117. As a result, its lease program for the car that you are interested in is not very attractive right now. VW Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Jetta Sedan TDI with 15,000 miles per year are .00302 and 52%, respectively.   That's the bad news. The good news is that Volkswagen is currently providing $500 dealer cash on diesel Jetta Sedans. Theoretically, vehicles' residual values are based upon what they would sell for on the open market several years from now as used vehicles. Car_man,   I don't see anything on the VW site about Jetta lease cash incentives. Are these directly to the consumer or manufacturer to dealer?
