Here's the deal I was quoted and actually purchased: SE/automatic (only extra was the jetta mat pkge) 36 mo/10k miles year sticker: $21,970 cost: $19,710 $1500 down (covered all taxes/title/fees/etc, so total drive off)   Last year I was pointed to a Brooklyn dealer, and they were terrible. Glad I found Trend Motors this time. They have a pretty decent stock right now... oh, and if you go to "www.VW.com/NYoffer" it is a $500 coupon from the NY autoshow. good thru 4/30 I believe....I used it..! I guess I will turn in the car and be done with VW for a while, esp having to deal with the arrogance of some dealers is annoying me. One quote was "VW can afford to not lower its prices because we have premium customers who are not losing their jobs, unlike Honda and Toyota". As others have said on here, hard to estimate every areas taxes n fees...but my $245 lease came to $289 once taxes n fees etc were added in for NYC...

Hey guys, my girlfriend has been wanting to get into a Jetta and she wants to lease. So far, this is the best we've been able to get:   09 Jetta S "California Edition" (17" anthracite-looking wheels, Bluetooth, spoiler)   $239/mo w/taxes included $2500 down 15,000 mi (What's the invoice + holdback on this bad boy? Would it be too aggressive to negotiate price to invoice as a start for the lease?)   She is a new college grad with good, but short, credit.   I don't have the money factor or residuals, but hopefully this is enough to work with. We're in San Diego and would be willing to drive for a great deal.   Is this a decent deal? Should we be working on an SE instead of the California edition (is there more room to negotiate)? Always start with a good price, $0 down!, get the deal, then if you "need" to have a lower payment on a lease, well then offer it. $2,500 on a VW lease is high. I pay $330mth for my 08 Jetta SE $0 Down!
