Hi Monkey,

Could you please post which dealer you used in NYC? Dealers in Brooklyn have been quoting us around $350 a month on Jetta SE 12,000/36 lease.

I am working with a dealership and they said I qualify for a lease in VW's 'C' tier. He said the money factor for this tier was .029. I know my credit isn't the greatest but I still want to be sure I don't get taken to the cleaners.

Does .029 sound reasonable?

Is it possible to for someone to take over my current 08 G6 lease, so that I am may get into a VW lease? Do you think I really stand a chance? The dealer tried getting me someone to take over last year, but I am wondering if you think if I tried asking them again, they might do it, just to gain my business again. Also, since GM is no longer leasing, one might think my lease is attractive over buying. They only have 2yrs left. Transfer fee $595, and heck I would be willing to transfer that fee into my new lease if the wanted my car. I just really want out. I could try leasetrader, but the odds of me getting out would be slim. The dealer could point the way to my car. They might see it as an opportunity for business. Its worth a try I think. They leased me the car.

Any advice would be helpful. I am wanting either Jetta or Passat.

Would the SE Wagon be the same 12k / 36 months (MF and residual?) Why are the residuals on the wagons worse than the sedans? 54% vs. 43% on wagons?

Hi
Sure...I used Trend Motors in Ramsey,NJ. its a bit of a drive, but well worth it.
You can call or use the website. Tell them you want the Costco deal that Mike
got last week ... I went with the SE/automatic. 36 mo/10,000 miles and got
$245. 12,000 miles would be a little higher than that.
Let me know if you have any other questions...I was certainly happy to find info on this forum!

sorry I missed this the other day. Here's the deal I was quoted and actually purchased:
SE/automatic (only extra was the jetta mat pkge)
36 mo/10k miles year
sticker: $21,970
cost: $19,710
$1500 down (covered all taxes/title/fees/etc, so total drive off)

Last year I was pointed to a Brooklyn dealer, and they were terrible.
Glad I found Trend Motors this time. They have a pretty decent stock
right now... oh, and if you go to "www.VW.com/NYoffer" it is a $500
coupon from the NY autoshow. good thru 4/30 I believe....I used it..!

Thanks from me too. It seems I can't get a better offer than 289 including everything (MD taxes, fees). I guess I will turn in the car and be done with VW for a while, esp having to deal with the arrogance of some dealers is annoying me. One quote was "VW can afford to not lower its prices because we have premium customers who are not losing their jobs, unlike Honda and Toyota". Hmmkay, that's why they are discounting the Golf in Germany with over 30% these days.

sorry to hear you are having to deal with some less than great dealers in your area. An SE or SEL for $289 (all incl) doesnt sound bad to me. As others have said on here, hard to estimate every areas taxes n fees...but my $245 lease came to $289 once taxes n fees etc were added in for NYC...
