60 Month Buy Rate for Jetta by macrodarden

Do we have any dealers on board here who know what the buy rate is for a 60 month purchase of a 09 Jetta through VW Financial?
I know the program rates but I don't want to get taken to the cleaners if I can negotiate the rate down .5-1%. I don't mind the salesman making some cash off of me, I just hate paying for back end proffit when they do nothing to earn it.
Thanks for your help.

It's not as simple as cascadejim makes it out to be since you are trading in a lease. We would also have to know what your buyout is on lease vs real world trade-in value. The dealer could be taking a loss on your lease if you got a bad deal on your last lease. He is also off a few dollars on his calculations. It would be more like $344.

PS: 6.5% money factor for a lease is ridiculously high. I would buy it. You could probably get a loan for $22,500 6 years for $370 a month. Buyout after 3 years would be about $12,000. Trade-in value, assuming you took care of it, would be at least $13,000 maybe more. With your situation of trading in another lease it does get complicated.

Also, where do you live? 9.25% taxes!!! I would like to know so I will not unknowingly move there.

Sounds like Washington state... or Pennsylvania (which hits leases for an extra 3%).

The buyout on my lease right now is just over $12k (that is including the 3 payments I have left). It is a 2005 CRV EX, good condition, just your typical wear and tear. Just hit 40k miles this month. My payments are $377 inc tax.

The dealer that offered the original deal in this thread, pissed me off, and I walked away.
I now have another dealer that I have recently started talking with. I asked about prices on 2008/2009 Jetta SEL. Of course he is pushing towards the 2009. He has also suggested the Wolfsburg edition, but I really don't know the specifics on that car. It sounds more powerful than the SEL and seems like it might have a few more bells and whistles, but shows about $1500 less than the SEL....Soo..What's the catch?
Does it require premium gas?

I really appreciate all the advice!

Thanks.

Hi macrodarden. VW Credit is currently offering 3.9% financing for 3 years, 4.9% for 4 years, and 5.9% for 5 years on the 2009 Jetta. This is the lowest that dealers can offer on this car. They aren't making money other than a small flat fee and whatever gross they make on your car for signing you up at these rates.

Wolfsburg has a 2.0T turbo engine in it so you have to use Premium. The SEL is the top of the line Jetta so that is the one that has all of the bells and whistles (leather, etc.) Personally I like the look of the SEL better.....not a big fan of the old school Jetta whip antenna on the top of the car.

Done deal, purchased a 2009 Jetta Wolfsburg in CT. Fresh off the boat, 11 miles on odometer, 6 Speed manual, black/anthracite, wolfsburg package, only add-on is spoiler. Final negotiated price $21,530 including all dealer fees and registration (not including tax). MSRP $22,474 and they wanted $160 DMV and $299 conveyance fee, which they either waived or dropped price of car to roll those into final price. So $21,530 and I was able to grab $1,000 owner loyalty making the price of the car for me in real terms of $20,530, which I was very happy about.

Hope this helps. I'd be happy to refer people if needed. Carman, should this be posted elsewhere?

leasing Jetta S manual in NY area by atsenb

Hi,

I confirmed with a dealer that the sign-then-drive promotion has been extended to 1/2/09. Has anyone been able to lease a Jetta at or below invoice (prior to any loyalty rebates or $500 manual rebate that the dealers are able to get)?

My lease is coming due in January and I will likely be leasing one in the coming month.

Also, Carman or anyone, can you confirm that the leasing rate for a 39month/10k for a Jetta S Manual 4DR is still 0.00273 MF and 61% residual?

Thanks,
