Hi Josh. Volkswagen Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2007 Volkswagen GTI 2-Door with 15,000 miles per year are .00175 and 54%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are .00175 and 55%. If you are in the Eastern or Central U.S., VW is running a special enhanced lease program on this model that drops its money factor to .00117.

Hi mediaguy2. My advice to you is to find out this car's MSRP and selling price. That is the best way to tell how good a deal you are getting. Not only will these numbers show you how much of a discount you are being given on your car, they will also enable you to use VW's current lease program to estimate what your monthly payment should be. I would be happy to give you my opinion of this deal if you provide me with this info.

Hi Car_man-

Thanks for the response- can you confirm that the residuals you posted are correct? Something about 54% residual on a 24-month lease and 55% residual on a 36-month lease doesn't sit well with me. Maybe 64% on the 2-year?

Also, are the rates the same for the four-door model, or does that have it's own program?

Thanks so much!
-Josh

Carman,

North Jersey is out of 07 GTI's. I just drove an 08 and really wanted it. Unfortunately, they are at $349 for 36 with 15k miles with $1600 out of pocket.

Do you have the 08 MF's and residuals. In particular 08 GTI 15k miles 36 months no cap cost. Thanks in advance.

MSRP of $23370.

Hello Guys,
Today I test drove a 2007 GTI 2-Door and I absolutely loved it! I want to get one really bad, hopefully this week. Could you please tell me what is the approximate monthly rate I can expect to get on a 36 month, 15,000 miles lease on one that's around $27,000 - with basically no money down (just the first payment, etc.)? My credit score is around 650. Any help from you is greatly appreciated, since I am on a limited budget, but in love with GTI! Looking for a ballpark figure, not an exact one.
Thank you very much.

Thank you in advance.

You're right, Josh, that was a typo. Sorry about that. Volkswagen Credit's September buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2007 GTI 2-Door with 15,000 miles per year are .00158 and 63%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are .00158 and 54%. The numbers for the 4-Door version of this car are currently exactly the same.

Hi cicilbri. The best way to get a good deal on a leased vehicle is to negotiate as low a selling price as you can and then have the dealer that gives you that price calculate your car's monthly payment using its buy rate lease money factor. You are off to a good start because you already know what selling price the dealer you are working with is using. It is tough for me to give you my opinion of this price without knowing what this car's MSRP is, but I can tell you that you should shoot for a selling price of right around dealer invoice on a leased '07 GTI right now. The $500 lease cash that Volkswagen is currently providing on this model should make a selling price of dealer invoice possible in areas that have a decent level of competition. You can look up the invoice price of the exact model that you want by visiting the following section of this site: Edmunds.com - New Vehicle Pricing.

Once you arrive at a selling price that you are comfortable with, have the dealer that gives it to you calculate your monthly payment using VW Credit's current buy rate lease money factor of .00043.

Here's the information that you're looking for, pollofrito81. Volkswagen Credit's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 VW GTI 2-Door with 15,000 miles per year are .00171 and 55%, respectively. The money factor for an otherwise identical lease of a GTI 4-Door would be the same, but its residual value is one point lower.
