07 GTI Lease - May by skier07

Hi Car_Man,

I just got back from the dealer, and here is what I worked out on a lease for a 2007 GTI w/DSG (no package 1 or 2).

MSRP: $24,635
Sale Price: $23,111
Residual: 57%
Acq Fee: $575
Lease Rate: 0.00132
Term: 36 months
Mi/yr: 12,000
Tax Rate: 6.00%
Initial Payment (money down?): $663.60
Monthly Payment: $338.10

Black Magic, 17" Alloy Wheels, DSG, Cloth Interior.
I have a trade in as well, and will probably put some of that money towards a down payment. How does this lease look?

Yes, but the residual values for 36 months are different.

You're welcome, timmboj. Tennessee might be in one of those regions, I'm not sure exactly which states are included.

Hi rz06. The options and transmission that the GTI you are interested in have will have no impact upon its lease program, other than the Fahrenheit Edition package that lowers its residual values slightly. The lease program for the 2-door GTI is exactly the same as the program for the 4-door model.

Timmboj, Volkswagen Credit charges an acquisition fee of $575 and a security deposit equivalent to vehicles' monthly payments rounded up to the nearest $25 increment on every vehicle that it leases. It will waive its security deposit requirement in exchange for an increase of .00015 in the money factor that is used to calculate vehicles' monthly payments.

Hi skier07. I'm jealous, I love the GTI. The money factor that you were quoted is right in line with VW Credit's buy rate for a 36 month lease of this car with a waived security deposit. This is a good thing. As far as the selling price that you were quoted goes, the car that you described only has a spread of around $1,500 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. So the $1,500 discount that you are being given makes this a very good deal. If you like the car, go for it.

Hey,

A few questions on leasing a GLI/GTI

I'm looking at either a package 1 Jetta GLI or GTI (2 or 4 door)
Can you please let me know the residuals and money factors for 2yr/30k and 3yr/45k leases on all 3 models. I really like the cars and am looking for the best deal.

Also, I currently own an 04 Passat and plan on trading it in. Is VW currently offering any incentives for loyalty or passat owners.

Also Also, I graduated college in December (but can also prove current enrollment) does this entitle me to any college/ college grad promos?

Thanks man,

J

Lease Tax question by wylyth

I'm looking to lease a GTI in June, and I realize no one has the MF or residuals at the moment, but I figure I'd ask anyways. I'm looking for a 10k or 12k 36mo lease. Also, if you happen to know the residual on a fahrenheit, I'd like to know that as well. To anyone that knows, how much will your credit rating effect the money factor? I'm going to need a cosigner if that's any help.

One other quick question. I'm leasing in IL, so the sales tax is added to the cap cost up front. (at least that's what the dealership told me) I was also told that I pay tax on MSRP not on the actual sales price, which seemed a little suspicious. After all, you don't pay sales tax on the MSRP of a TV, you pay it on the sale price. I checked around, and can't seem to find any info on the topic.

Thanks for the help!

CarMan,

Thanks for all the helpful info.

The lease deal I was quoted for a 4 dr. GTI, option 2, manual trans. for 36 months / 10,000 miles is:

MSRP: $26,520
Cap Cost: $24,400
Money Factor: .00117
Residual: 58%
Upfront fees: $1600
Monthly pymt: $314 incl. tax

I'm going to sign the deal this evening, I'll post if it turns out to be b.s.

Well I signed the deal on the 30th, but as of the 31st they say they couldn't track down the car. They said that they will honor the deal we worked out into June.

I'd be interested in the new June lease numbers when they are out.

Thanks,
