In my experience dealers can extend that deadline just a bit. The lease special was $217 here but when I went to the dealer they said there were no more manual cars avail. They did not assist me in trying to find one. I went thru carsdirect online and they found me a wonderful dealer (casey chang at pasadena VW) who was a straight shooter, a joy to deal with, very professional and gave me the lowest price. He made suggestions to get my payment where I needed it to be and I got the car, without pkg 1, manual top, with the VW extended warranty (7 years 100,000 miles) plus tax each month for $272.
