Car Man,

Wondering if you have the latest (valid through Dec 1) RV/MF for a 36mo lease, 12K/year on the following:

2009 Outback 2.5i Limited w/o nav
2008 Outback 3.0R w/o nav and w/nav

I live in the Southeast (27608)

Thanks!

09 Outback 2.5i Limited rates by dtmcgarry

Hi, I was quoted $25,595 for an 09 Outback 2.5i Limited (Quartz Silver) by a local dealer. I think that's probably an alright price, though I imagine it could get a little better, if fitzmall.com is to be believed!

BUT I'm not yet sure if I want to buy or lease.

What are the MF/residuals for this car at 3 years /60k miles or 2 years /40k miles. I know those are high mileage totals for a lease, but I thought I'd check anyway.

Thanks!

2009 outback 3.0R 36 month by peiboy

Carman, can you give me a good monthly payment for the following:

2009 outback 3.0R
w/o nav
15,000 miles per year
36 month term (I would prefer 24 but my dealer, Massachusetts, informed me today that the 36 month was a much better program right now on the 3.0R)
Zero cap cost reduction

Thanks.

Here you go, ts0673. Subaru's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Outback 2.5i Limited without navigation with 12,000 miles per year are .00190 and 57%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of an '08 Outback 3.0R are .00300 and 50%.

Hi dtmcgarry. Subaru's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Outback 2.5i Limited with 15,000 miles per year are .00190 and 56%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 24 month lease are .00280 and 63%.

15,000 miles per year is the highest mileage allowance that Subaru leases vehicles with. If you need to drive more than this, you will have to purchase additional miles on a per-mile basis. It is less expensive to do so at lease signing than it is to wait until lease-end and have to pay an excess mileage penalty.

Hi John . I would be happy to to work up a lease on the car that you are interested in for you, but in order for me to do so I need you to provide me with its full MSRP and approximate selling price. Let me know and I'll crunch some numbers.

MSRP comes to $35,340 dealer quoted $31,900. Good deal?

Some confusion about homelink option. Subaru site (and edmunds) lists it at $75 but dealer says its more (I forgot price but something over $150). Can you help me reconcile this detail?

Also he quoted a 36 month lease of $549 ( 10,000 miles, includes NY taxes - 8.375). That seems high. What are current factor, residual for that car?

TIA

Jack
