Pathfinder vs Xterra by ucfphi225

I recently went to a dealership looking for an Xterra. I had priced and researched Pathfinders about 6 months ago and really like them but decided to wait. Now, I feel like I don't need something that big (also thinking bigger equals more expensive) and I do also like the Xterra.
I was told though that the lease package for a Pathfinder is a lot better than the Xterra, and that I can pretty much get a equally equipped Pathfinder for what I was going to pay (monthly) for an Xterra. I would want an SE in either model, with air bag package.
I'm wondering if the salesman was just trying to up-sell me to a more expensive vehicle or if he was really serious. He said the money factor and residual value is much better on the Pathfinder, dropping the payment...but it's hard to believe that a $29,220 (which would be $1600 more because I would add the premium package) vehicle can cost the same as a $26,740 vehicle. SE Xterra's also seem hard to find. I'm looking for any help anyone can offer....

These are for an SE, not an LE....but since this thread is pretty much dead, figured these numbers were better than nothing. This is as of 2/11
Res. Value: 55%
Money Factor: .00130

Monthly lease payment? by eperk34

I went to the dealership yesterday in regards to to leasing a 08 Pathfinder S model. I was quoted a monthly payment of $404.74 monthly payment, I walked away, as it seems way too high from what I had calculated myself. He added $200 on top of the invoice price, as his best buy offer, I then asked for his best price for a lease. He told me that when leasing, you do not get the $2250 rebate, is that true? The stats for it are:
MSRP $26800
Invoice $25372

I negotiated to him that I wanted a price of $22,700. I was hoping that I could take the $2250 off the price of the car when leasing. Am I wrong in thinking this? Thanks.

Hello brian62. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder LE V6 2WD with 12,000 miles per year are .00130 and 54%, respectively.

Greetings eperk34. What you were told is correct. Nissan's consumer cash incentives on the Pathfinder are not compatible with its special lease program. A selling price of $200 over dealer invoice is a good deal on a leased 2008 Pathfinder right now.

Welcome enm. In your post you mentioned this truck's MSRP and dealer invoice price. Does this mean that the dealer is selling it to you at invoice. If so, that is an excellent deal. Just make sure that the dealer uses Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s current buy rate lease money factor of .00130 (36 month lease of an '08 Pathfinder SE V6) to calculate your monthly payment and you're all set.

Hi Mr. Car_man,
I am not sure how to compute the selling price based on these numbers. I don't think he is giving it to us at invoice price, but the monthly payments will be $379 (including taxes) for 36 mos with a $2000 money upfront. He said it is a good deal but I walked away, due to not being sure if it really was a good deal since I don't really know what I'm doing.

Will you pls. help me figure this out? Did I lose a good deal or will I be able to go back to him and say I am taking the deal? Thanks so much....
