There is probably $5-700 at least to fight about but you seem to have found the one you want and the deal seems decent so you have to decide what to do. For a 38k msrp and a poor 49% residual your payments are pretty good with only $700 down. Why not throw in the $700 into the lease and drive off with zero down for a few dollars more. Considering the dismal future for lease deals in general, this one seems very good. Good Luck!!

Hi there,

I am currently in a lease of an Infiniti G35 that is due to expire in about 6 months. I am looking to lease a Murano and was wondering if anyone had any good experiences in the L.A. area with dealers? I am friends with some people that work at Nissan corporate so I hope to get a VPP deal to get the lease payment down.

I am looking to lease a Murano LE over 36 months, with as little $$$ down as possible, on about 12,000 miles a year.

I had a look at a BMW X3 yesterday and was wondering if anyone here knew approximately how much the cost of servicing the Murano would be year on year? BMW include servicing within their costs so I was wondering if it made more sense to pay slightly more than the Murano per month and get the servicing included.

I have been told if I move onto another Nissan or Infiniti ending the lease early shouldn't be a huge problem as new car sales are so dire at the moment. I am also way low on my lease miles of my G35 (about 22k after 3 years on a 39 month, 15,000 miles a year lease)

Thanks in advance for any advice

Service on muranos for the first 3 years consists of oil changes and tire rotations. Some dealers will include the oil changes during the warranty if pressed. I would think that would be pretty likely in these times if you ask for it. Service costs shouldn't be an issue for either car. Get the one you want.

Thanks Jayrider, well the maintenance schedule must be very different for the Murano as my G35 seems to need to be serviced every 4k miles and some of those services have cost me in excess of $250!!!

If it is an oil change and rotation that's great. Not such a big issue, the high maintenance costs of the Infiniti made me think that was standard across Nissan's and Infiniti's.

oil & filter every 3750k and rotations every 7500 miles. Watchout for the dealer recommended service packages --- padded big time. Just go by the manual.

Check out ridewithg.com for lease numbers on 09 muranos. His pricing at invoice is of course way off because people are buying for thousands less but the lease numbers are reasonable.

So what is the story on residuals? The dealership we plan on going with is quoting 49% yet another that is trying to get our business is saying 54%. Only "big" difference that I can see is that the 1st car as 4800 miles on it. They said the lease will start once I sign on the dotted line but are they allowed to change that %?

The residual appears to be 50% for 3 years on an LE. 54% is better as long as the money factor matches up with ride with g. It may change in feb. The car with miles is assigned a lower residual but if the selling price is lower it might balance out. Use the formula to calculate your lease on both. Of course, you want one more than the other so pick your poisen.

The dealership confused an SL with an LE. Scary. We won't be going with them.
