You should shoot for at least 2k under invoice. Only deal with internet managers or sales mgrs. Stay away from sales staff. Expand your search to 200 miles from home --- an easy 3-4 hour ride-- you are looking for a dealership that understands the economic situation and wants to sell muranos. All service issues can be handled locally no matter where you buy. If all else fails my dealership where I bought will sell you one --- just fly to st.louis and drive home. You will save 2k even with the airfare or you can have it shipped for 600 dollars. There are great deals in so cal but you have to be patient and persistant. We love our sl awd leather sunroof.

Will do! Thanks so much for the tips. We're in WA state and were discussing that we'd gone to probably one of the most successful Eastside dealerships that probably isn't feeling the pinch half as much as other places and we need to start shopping. Can any dealership get us the exact car we're looking for and still deal or does it already need to be on their lot?

They really dislike trading with other dealers even though they have an inventory search engine that can find you what you want. It costs them fees and someone has to transport the vehicle etc. If they really want to sell a car then it should pose little difficulty. They were going to get a murano from another dealership for me but at the last minute I asked for a bottom line quote on the one in the showroom and they did well by me. Don't talk lease until you have the best price and get quotes only online or by phone. It pays to be a little flexible on colors and options. Also, you might want to check out the 08 infinity fx 35 awd for price and subsequent lease deals. The cars are comparable though the infinity is more expensive but they may deal on a new 08 and the lease payments might be close. You never know what you might find and you have some time so stay calm and cool when dealing. Never show much enthusiasm --- just interest and a willingness to review offers.

2009 SL
$30,500K (prepaid maintenance agreement $500)
18K miles year,
$500 month
Residual was $14,700
I can't understand the agreement to share the MF, but I think it was .029 ??
Loaded except navigation. and with a trade in with inevitable negative equity.

Thoughts about this offer by ngordon

I was made this offer on an 09 SL AWD, no major option packages, last night and I am wondering if there is better out there:

39month/12k
$1000 incl 1st month
$379.89 payment (incl. taxes)
They say invoice of $28,716.00 and they are pricing about $1100 under, plus they are including $1000 for current murano lessor.
MF .00209
56% residual

I just want to see if anyone is seeing anything better

Nice to see that you're still in the hunt ngordon. Pretty decent offer I guess but are you absolutely sure you want a murano? Been to some interesting sites even though I'm out of the market for 3 years and wouldn't mind sending you to check them out for lease deals. Some seem pretty incredible. Nissan isn't the very best company on lease rates -- a bit below average it seems. If so, we can do it on a direct basis. I can publish my email temporarily for you to contact me and then delete it. You're call --I'm ok either way.
Off to the dentist for a crown or an extraction/bridge. I'll make a decision based on his best offer. Looks like fig newtons and gummi bears for dinner.

Ngordon -- what was the msrp on your murano? You should get at least 2K under invoice plus your 1k lessor deal. The money factor is ok and the residual is set by nissan. I would also ask for the 3 months extended warranty as a holiday gift -- then let them sit on it or give you the deal.

I don't mind at all, dsk4. I'm always interested in hearing community members thoughts on vehicles.

Greetings!
I intend on buying my 06 Murano. Lease is up next Sept. Do you think now might be a good time to negotiate a buyout since sales are slow? Thanks!
