Replying to: jayrider (Nov 07, 2008 9:27 am) Dealer 2 called back and offered a better deal. SL loaded w/o nav. is at $495.00 or with nav. $525.00 with only 1K down. This seems promising but said couldn't move on anything until after the weekend. |

Car man ... as I am digesting my foray into car leasing, I realize that one area I didn't do well, on was the money factor. I didn't realize I could have negotiated the figure. I negotiated a great price on my murano 2200 under invoice so I don't know if they would have budged on the money factor which was .00239 or 5.736 %. This was for the 36 month lease --- the 39month was over 7%. My credit score was over 800 so I got the fair rate but I don't know whether I could have recieved a super rate because I didn't ask for one. Don't know if I'll lease again --- Illinois requires the taxes up front and if you purchased after the lease you pay it again. Won't buy it unless the auction value in three years is down around 10-11k instead of the 20k on the residual. Who knows ? The market in three years will be post-crash so anything is possible. Have a guess?

Seems like there is a new lease program for Murano's. I have had a couple NJ Dealers tell me the MF on 36 & 39 month leases at .00208. Offer over the phone last night was 39 mth, 12k, ZERO down (my preference) for an SL AWD - $390/month incl. everything. The cash from Nissan includes $1000 as current murano/nissan customer. I know this is at least $1k under invoice, but I am undecided; Looking at a Tiguan today.

Replying to: ngordon (Nov 14, 2008 5:38 am) If I am correct with all of this, could you PLEASE give me the names of the NJ Dealers who quoted this offer. I can't come close to that price on Long Island. Thanks, Bob

I'm working on a lease on an 09 Murano. CUrrently a SL model. the Dealer offer is poor. THis is my first lease and I"m not very savvy yet, but I recognize a bad deal! Is this a crazy thougtht... Salesperson keeps recommeding we downgrade the car to get to where I watn to be. Simple Logic. But, can this be counterproductive? When you downgrade, do you reduce the residual as well? (edit...I just read a post that said that the SL has higher residual than the LE??) I"m happy with an SL model (need power seats) and a premium package. I was todl that I couldnt' get the tech package wihtout all the other packages first-that that is just how they are built-liek a pyramid. Is that true? Can I get a Tech package on an SL without the leather package? I think the money factor was .003__ something. Can I expect to get something closer to .0021? (credit is superior) And does 39 months do anythign negative- or does it just extend the lease by a few months? Thanks for feedback and clarifications. I'll post my negotiations and (hopefully) final deal to share with others. My goal is a Murano with power seats, steering controls for under $500 with 18K miles and no money down. Dallas TX area |
