Medtech, I leased an 09 LE with nav and moonroof for 39 months, 12k miles/yr for $510 per month. Out of pocket was $1500 which included tax, tags, fees and 1st month. $600 per month seems very high however it really depends on the money factor. I leased on the last day of Feb and the mf was.00154. I think it was the same if not better in March so if you got quotes for $600 per month, what was the price of the car? For $600/month you can get a really nice mercedes or lexus.

Get the mf and post it on here so we know if that is the culprit for such a high payment on the LE as well as the cap cost of the vehicle.

Here you go everyone. MF he quoted me was 0.00157 this dealer claims that the MF went up from April's of 0.00137......makes no sense to me. The cap cost of the vehicle was $33985.00 on an MSRP of $38635.00 for an LE with moonroofs and lighted door sills, splash guards and mats.

He numbers do not add up to me at all...I'm using the LeaseCompare calculator.

I only have leather and premium. If you get a loaded one you would be looking at 40-60 more a month on my deal, so instead of 440 it would be 480-500 with taxes. i do have 15k miles though.

that's assuming the april resid/mf are the same as march.

Medtech, there is absolutely no way your payments should be $600/month. Yes, March mf rates were at .00137 but it was also Nissan's fiscal year end. Going up to .00157 for April sounds right. I leased in Feb at mf rate of .00154 for a vechicle that the cap cost was $36k. There is not way your payments should be $600 with a cap cost of $34k and $2k down payment. Something is just not right.

Go to fleetrates.com, call them and ask them for a quote. They are a legitimate business with great deals. I almost went with them until I walked into the dealership just to test drive a car and they gave me an awesome deal. You will get a very competitive quote from fleetrates.com as they will shop dealers for you. Good luck.

Lease Offer for LE Nissan Murano by absolutboy20

So I'm using a online site that searches for cars for you, many of you probably know what site I am talking about to avoid the haggling process of the dealership. It's my second run at a Nissan Murano. I'm getting an MSRP price of $40,495.00, with a purchase price of $36,861.00 . The MF they are quoting me is .00137, with a 48% residual, 15k, 39 month lease. My payments will come out to be $589.90 per month with $1003.81 down.

When I leased my current Murano, I had felt the purchase price was almost in the same ballpark. I can't remember the MF, and residuals obviously from almost three year ago, but my current payments are about $490 a month with tax. I remember the check that I wrote in the dealership that day was around $1600 for the first month and misc fees . I knew the new model was going to be a more, but I was expecting in the $520-$550 range. If I wanted to get down to $500 a month, I would have need to place over $4,000 down which I thought was ridiculous and never recommended.

Any thoughts from others as to whether this is actually a good deal and I just had unrealistic figures in my head??

absolutboy2,
You can get a better price. For reference, look at fitzmall.com and go to their Nissan dealership. They list a similar Murano (I'm guessing LE with Nav & sunroof) with MSRP of $40,495 with a selling price of $34,861. That $2000 difference equates to about $57 less per month. Instead of using the online service, request email quotes directly from several dealers, local and even those a few hours away. Then see who will beat your lowest offer. Use the fitzmall deal for leverage. The lease deal you were quoted looks pretty accurate, though you don't list all the fees and taxes that may be rolled into the "net capital cost." Some of those are negotiable, some are not. Good luck!

MD,

Ahh yes I remember Fitzmall when I found my first Murano three years ago. I live in the San Francisco bay area and even considered driving or having the car shipped since the deals are so good there. I thought with the abundance of dealerships in this area, that the dealers here would be willing to haggle, but I didn't have much luck last time.

I'll try over the weekend to shoot off a couple of e-mails to the dealers. I"ll see what happens.

Thanks!

Hi John,
Based upon what I have seen others pay and what can be found in dealer's on-line pricing, I think you can get the price down at least another $500 to $1000 (by getting the sell price down to $26K your monthly cost would drop to about $352). Also, the fees shown, especially the extra $298 are probably just extra dealer padding, so that may be negotiable. What I don't see in your numbers is a typical $600 acquisition fee, but my lease calculator suggests this is already included in your monthly cost. The .00204 money factor is higher than it was last month, but Nissan could have raised their rates in April - ask CarMan on this forum for the latest April lease rates and residuals to confirm these are correct. Finally, it is always best to put as little cash down as possible, but that will raise the monthly cost - it's up to you. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the response MD, I appreciate it.
I got the dealer to give me the extra 3 mos. warranty coverage at the end of the lease (36-39 months) at no additional charge.
He's sticking to $385, I told him i wanted $375 at the most out of the deal.
Origianly he wanted $385 w/ 12k miles, but got him to go up to 15k for same price.
Dunno, seems like an OK deal but not a great deal.
Forgot to mention that they throw in free oil changes for the lease term,
