March Sales numbers by medtech

March sales numbers are posted on Nissan's corporate website. Nissan posted a 36% decrease in overall sales over prior year. The Murano faired a little worse with a decrease of 40% over prior year.

This could bring about some deals on 09 Murano's as we approach the timeframe where 2010's will be available. I don't know about anyone else, but I cannot get any dealer within a 75 mile radius to make a deal with me on an 09 Murano LE w/moonroofs for under 600/month......and thats putting down 2K. I'm getting quotes via the internet and going back and forth with several dealers. My understanding is that Corp. Nissan is offering dealers all sorts of incentives and holdbacks in an effort to increase sales and these incentives change almost daily from corporate.

I'm standing firm on my price range of 500-525/month with nothing to lass than 1K down. Wish me luck.

Almost forgot does anyone have any idea of how many Murano LE's are available across the country? Did not know if their is info available out on the web that provides these details.

Most dealers aren't interested in an email deal with little profit. Not worth their time to mess with you. Go into a dealer and bring your checkbook and propose the deal - ready to buy now. Then you'll see if it's possible.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you jayrider. Four of the last five cars I purchased or leased were negotiated via email with very little effort on my part. The worst part of car shopping is the experience while at the dealership. My time is too valuable to play the "Let me run this fantastic deal by my manager and see if he's in a good mood" game. In all of my online deals I simply showed up at the dealer for delivery of the car, signed a few papers (that were already printed and waiting) and was usually on my way in less than one hour. And by using forums like this I always felt I had received a good price as well. BTW, the one car I did purchase during a dealer visit was when my wife went for a test drive and a desperate sales manager offered us a great price on the spot with no haggle - we hadn't even planned to buy the car from that dealer, but since we were already there...

I do think that there's validity in both points of view. There are volume dealers with great Internet departments but they are few. If you are reasonably local, they really try to recognize that the lower margin can be supplemented by a service relationship.

In my experience, they really only try to sell you what's on the lot or due to their location in the next week. So, hard to find models and outfittings are hit & miss.

The dealer haggling is drudgery BUT a lot can be learned before going to the showroom that can be used to negotiate to a very good position. I went in to the showroom saying I wanted a loaded Murano SL knowing that deals weren't happening and that when I was 'upgraded' to an LE, I could posture that I wasn't all that interested in the wheels and other items, I had a payment target.

There still are good sales managers who can be told what your trigger is. Sure it always involves money but there are other components like availability and trade-offs that work best in person. Many Internet buyers regret some form of 'gotcha' that is facilitated by the lack of give and take.

My two cents. Buying is really not an experience that everyone enjoys!

md-outback, no need to be sorry for disagreeing with me. Been married 40 years. I believe that the internet bargaining may be the best way to buy up to a point. If you are not getting the deal you feel is attainable then you set up an appointment take your checkbook and go into the dealer with a take it or leave it deal. Take a cup of coffee --give the rep the deal and ask for an answer before the last sip. Then you leave if it isn't going to happen. No sitting in an office or talking to the CLOSER. Just yay or nay. It shows you are a serious buyer. Whatever works.

Hi, that deal sounds awesome... I've been trying to get a 12K 39-month lease on a loaded AWD SL and we have some negative equity as well... However, our payments would be $500/month (or more) and this is with sub-invoice cap cost, only $800 drive off. We live near Seattle.

Does anyone know what the residuals, money factors are for April? We're also considering an LE AWD.

It seems like 12K miles is as low as Nissan goes. I don't think they do 10K leases, does anyone know?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Medtech, I leased an 09 LE with nav and moonroof for 39 months, 12k miles/yr for $510 per month. Out of pocket was $1500 which included tax, tags, fees and 1st month. $600 per month seems very high however it really depends on the money factor. I leased on the last day of Feb and the mf was.00154. I think it was the same if not better in March so if you got quotes for $600 per month, what was the price of the car? For $600/month you can get a really nice mercedes or lexus.

Get the mf and post it on here so we know if that is the culprit for such a high payment on the LE as well as the cap cost of the vehicle.

Here you go everyone. MF he quoted me was 0.00157 this dealer claims that the MF went up from April's of 0.00137......makes no sense to me. The cap cost of the vehicle was $33985.00 on an MSRP of $38635.00 for an LE with moonroofs and lighted door sills, splash guards and mats.

He numbers do not add up to me at all...I'm using the LeaseCompare calculator.

I only have leather and premium. If you get a loaded one you would be looking at 40-60 more a month on my deal, so instead of 440 it would be 480-500 with taxes. i do have 15k miles though.

that's assuming the april resid/mf are the same as march.

Medtech, there is absolutely no way your payments should be $600/month. Yes, March mf rates were at .00137 but it was also Nissan's fiscal year end. Going up to .00157 for April sounds right. I leased in Feb at mf rate of .00154 for a vechicle that the cap cost was $36k. There is not way your payments should be $600 with a cap cost of $34k and $2k down payment. Something is just not right.

Go to fleetrates.com, call them and ask them for a quote. They are a legitimate business with great deals. I almost went with them until I walked into the dealership just to test drive a car and they gave me an awesome deal. You will get a very competitive quote from fleetrates.com as they will shop dealers for you. Good luck.
