I wouldn't spend $500 just for an extra 3 months of warranty coverage. Besides, the powertrain warranty is 5 years / 60k miles and that would cover most major problems that had not surfaced during the first 36k miles. It's not possible to calculate your lease deal as shown without MSRP, actual selling price, lease money factor and residual. Also, who told you that 2009 production had already stopped? I hadn't seen that one before - wondering if it is a fact or a salesman's way of getting you to take one off the lot now.

Can anyone verify the 39mo 15k residual on the SL AWD. Is it still 55%?

$540 tax incl with $1500 out of pocket for 39 months/12k in NYC is probably the best deal you're going to find that will be an ACTUAL deal and not the myth...i dealt with 5 dealerships, including Nissan of Red Bank (who are the biggest lying sons of a b**ches, 2 chinese brothers are sons of the owner, scam artists...) one in Pennsylvania, 2 Crooklyn, and now one in Staten Island....All of them promissed to get me an SL, one got me VIN, BUT NOT A SINGLE ONE DELIVERED THE CAR!!! There are virtually only a few fully loaded SL's left and dealers won't give them up unless someone can give them a similar SL for a SWAP.....SO, you're left with PLAIN SL or an LE....Production of 2009 DID STOP! It's a fact, 2010 will start coming in in a few months....Hope this info helps....

This forum helped me so here is my deal i signed yesterday:

09 Murano SL AWD (with premium package and leather package)
39 Months
15k miles per year
$950 total due at signing
$409.09 base payment

I also had 1,200 negative equity in the deal that is rolled into the above numbers, so without that base payment would have been around 375-380 i assume.

I'm in southern california.

Thanks again.

Here was mine...

09 Murano SL FWD (Leather, Premium Pkg, Tech Pkg., Dual Sunroof, NAV)
39 Months
12k miles per year
$538 (first month's payment) due at signing
$538 per month

This is in Texas, which requires that you pay sales tax (6.25%, I think) against the full value of the vehicle. Dealer paid all taxes, fees, etc. and an additional $315 for my last payment on my Altima.

Did I get fleeced? Or did I make a decent deal?

March Sales numbers by medtech

March sales numbers are posted on Nissan's corporate website. Nissan posted a 36% decrease in overall sales over prior year. The Murano faired a little worse with a decrease of 40% over prior year.

This could bring about some deals on 09 Murano's as we approach the timeframe where 2010's will be available. I don't know about anyone else, but I cannot get any dealer within a 75 mile radius to make a deal with me on an 09 Murano LE w/moonroofs for under 600/month......and thats putting down 2K. I'm getting quotes via the internet and going back and forth with several dealers. My understanding is that Corp. Nissan is offering dealers all sorts of incentives and holdbacks in an effort to increase sales and these incentives change almost daily from corporate.

I'm standing firm on my price range of 500-525/month with nothing to lass than 1K down. Wish me luck.

Almost forgot does anyone have any idea of how many Murano LE's are available across the country? Did not know if their is info available out on the web that provides these details.

Most dealers aren't interested in an email deal with little profit. Not worth their time to mess with you. Go into a dealer and bring your checkbook and propose the deal - ready to buy now. Then you'll see if it's possible.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you jayrider. Four of the last five cars I purchased or leased were negotiated via email with very little effort on my part. The worst part of car shopping is the experience while at the dealership. My time is too valuable to play the "Let me run this fantastic deal by my manager and see if he's in a good mood" game. In all of my online deals I simply showed up at the dealer for delivery of the car, signed a few papers (that were already printed and waiting) and was usually on my way in less than one hour. And by using forums like this I always felt I had received a good price as well. BTW, the one car I did purchase during a dealer visit was when my wife went for a test drive and a desperate sales manager offered us a great price on the spot with no haggle - we hadn't even planned to buy the car from that dealer, but since we were already there...

I do think that there's validity in both points of view. There are volume dealers with great Internet departments but they are few. If you are reasonably local, they really try to recognize that the lower margin can be supplemented by a service relationship.

In my experience, they really only try to sell you what's on the lot or due to their location in the next week. So, hard to find models and outfittings are hit & miss.

The dealer haggling is drudgery BUT a lot can be learned before going to the showroom that can be used to negotiate to a very good position. I went in to the showroom saying I wanted a loaded Murano SL knowing that deals weren't happening and that when I was 'upgraded' to an LE, I could posture that I wasn't all that interested in the wheels and other items, I had a payment target.

There still are good sales managers who can be told what your trigger is. Sure it always involves money but there are other components like availability and trade-offs that work best in person. Many Internet buyers regret some form of 'gotcha' that is facilitated by the lack of give and take.

My two cents. Buying is really not an experience that everyone enjoys!

md-outback, no need to be sorry for disagreeing with me. Been married 40 years. I believe that the internet bargaining may be the best way to buy up to a point. If you are not getting the deal you feel is attainable then you set up an appointment take your checkbook and go into the dealer with a take it or leave it deal. Take a cup of coffee --give the rep the deal and ask for an answer before the last sip. Then you leave if it isn't going to happen. No sitting in an office or talking to the CLOSER. Just yay or nay. It shows you are a serious buyer. Whatever works.
