I just need to know some more so I can go back to him and ask. sorry- i am totally clueless.
is that the "going rate"?? - he said the only money left is the owner's profit ...
should I go to another dealer ?
he implied below invoice was already insane ? not true ??

If you read earlier posts people have gotten that discount easily if the dealer wants to sell. The dealer where I bought had 5k off signs on all his loaded LE's. He is still doing that. 1-2 grand under invoice is not unusual. You may have to work a bit. Email other dealers within 150-200 miles from where you live. If a salesperson is questioning your sanity, I would talk to the sales manager and/or visit another dealer. There are much better prices on loaded muranos. You just have to find them. For example -- herb gordon nissan in maryland has several le's with 4 grand off on his website. Don't know anything about him -- I live in Illinois. The thing is if you can buy at this time you should get at least 4-5 grand off that 40k LE.

That money factor is excellent. The lowest I've been able to get is 0.00154. Like you I cannot get any dealer within 75 miles of me (Tampa, Fl) to come down much at all on an LE. I'm still trying though!

I live about 5 hours from chicago. If you want to drive that far to save 5k let me know. Maybe your local dealer will match it but you get the same warranty no matter where you buy.

I am just learning about leasing but I must be missing something on those two Murano quotes..
Vehicle 1 has a higher price and lower residual
Vehicle 2 has a lower price and higher residual
How is the payment on Vehicle 2 more??

I was told that the January rates that were extended into Feb have pretty much remained in March. They are available at http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/2009/01/09-nissan-murano-lease-rate-for-janua- ry-2009/
I was educated why lease buy-outs at discount are not happening now. The manufacturers had no trouble getting insurance on the residuals they offered through early 2008. One of the reasons lease programs are drying up is because the coverage is either unavailable today or prohibitively expensive. So the manufacturer finance companies now have to carry the risk or pay dearly for cover.
Evidently the deals at auction are pretty sweet and you see many quality used vehicles being offered by dealers where they are able to make more money than on the new vehicle... plus people are inclined to buy extended warranties (or they're included in the premium markup).
Good luck,

Hopefully March will bring about some better deals. I'm having no luck getting a dealer to even discount an LE down to invoice. Maybe Nissan's abysmal sales figures for february will change that. Nissan sales were down 35% compared to Feb 08 with the Murano down 40% for that same period. Thats a huge jump compared to Jan sales were the Murano was only down 8% compared to jan 08. More Muranos on dealer lots and in the ports may equate to some better deals. Thats probably why residuals and money factors have pretty much remained constant since january.

medtech---get busy online --there are dealers offering 4k off LE's with prices posted online. Deal only with internet departments and you can find aan excellent deal. If you lived in st. louis you could get 5k off without even negotiating. Get to work. The deals won't come to you --- you have to go after them. The best deals are online not in the showroom.

Hey medtech, I have to agree with jayrider - look for deals online. In the MD / PA area you can find great deals at fitzmall.com (PA) and CarMax in White Marsh, MD. LEs are listed at $4K to $5K below MSRP. Bring these deals to your local dealer to get them to move. Good luck.
