Hi car man:

2009 Altima 2.5 4 cyl. with convenience and mats and splash guards
msrp 23595.00. If I can negotiate selling price of 21000.00 (prior to the
current 1500.00 rebates which will be used to reduce cap cost). Add
in acquisition fee %595.00 and NJ tax 7% only on lease portion not full selling price, based on today's money factor and residual can you give me monthly payment? I will pay cash for doc fees and motor vehicle fees.
Thanks.

Hi riskiad. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Altima 2.5 SL with 15,000 miles per year are .00174 and 60%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 39 month lease are .00174 and 59%.

Interestingly, NMAC's numbers for an '09 Altima 3.5 SL are exactly the same.

When negotiating your lease on this car, make sure to take advantage of the $750 bonus cash that Nissan is currently providing on it.

Car_man,

Could you please clarify this for a novice: can the cash back be applied for a lease? Different posts are contradicting: some say no (only cash) others say yes, sure. Even when reading the edmunds incentives I don't get it:

"Restrictions $xxx Dealer cash may not be combined with 0% APR - 0.90 % APR and vehicle must be financed through the manufacturer's captive finance company.
Comments Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement."

The way I read the above is that by leasing the dealer still gets its cash back -if they participate, that is. Am I wrong?

Any ideas?
Thanks a lot,
C

Hi careyd1. Nissan did make a mid-month enhancement to its incentives on the Altima. Specifically, it introduced $750 bonus cash on the '09 Altima on the 11th. This cash is compatible with its special lease program.

I'd be happy to work up a lease payment for you, rbcooper. Unfortunately, only $750 of the $1,500 in cash incentives that you mentioned is compatible with the Altima's special lease program. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5 4-cyl. with an automatic transmission that has an MSRP of $23,595 and a capitalized cost of $20,250 through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment would be around $247.

That's a lot of car for the money. For some reason, this model has outstanding residual values.

Hi diogen. the best way to evaluate a lease is to look at the selling price that it was based upon. The selling prices of leased vehicles are negotiable, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. If you let us know what this car's MSRP and selling price are, I am sure that either myself or another community member would be happy to give you their opinion of this deal.

Hi carmonicus. The answer to your question is yes...and no. . The $750 customer cash that Nissan introduced on the 2009 Altima at the beginning of December cannot be combined with its special lease program. However, mid-month Nissan introduced $750 bonus cash on this car which can be. In short, there's $1,500 on cash purchases and only $750 on vehicles that are purchased through the special financing or lease programs.

Another question - if the the 36 month lease adds 1% extra residual over the 39 month lease should I get a better deal with 36 months? The dealer tells me no since the Nissan Lease program is based on 39 months and the 36 month is actually about $10.00 a month more.
