New lease/money factors? by careyd1

So, I'm looking to see if I should be kicking myself or not on my above Altima deal. Nissan should have announced the new November programs today.

I heard from an unsure finance guy that he thought the Tier 1 money factor on Altimas was going to drop from .00191 to .00174, but that along with that you lose a point of residual, making it pretty much a wash vs. October rates.

Can anyone confirm or deny these numbers? What about other rebates, etc. Any customer cash being thrown out, applicable to leases?

Car_Man, I guess I'm looking to you on this one!

2.5 altima coupe w/convenience by shamme

Hi car_man and everyone else! I am new to leasing and I know there is a formula to calculating a lease payment, but I couldn't find it on the site so I was hoping someone could help me. I am looking for an Altima coupe 2.5S, CVT with convenience package. I spoke with a dealer who offered a 2008 with a selling price of $22,097. He quoted me $354 a month for 39 months/12k with $650 (1st payment, document fees, plates) out of pocket. This seems a little high to me, especially for a 2008. I would prefer a 2009 and a 36 month lease. Can anyone advise me on this? Also does anyone know how much more the convenience plus package is? I'm in Ohio (in case that makes a difference).
Thx in advance!

Congratulations on getting your new car, brott8. NMAC's 36 and 39 month money factors for it are exactly the same, but the 39 month residual value is 1% lower.

Congratulations on getting your new rides, careyd. Even if they are a step down, getting a new vehicle is always exciting...at least for me. Thanks for taking the time to post such a detailed description of your deal. If you'd like, you can hop on over to the Dealer Ratings & Reviews section of Edmunds.com to share your thoughts on your recent dealer experience with others as well. Enjoy your new ride .

Hi ebetty. This looks like a good deal to me. You negotiated a solid discount and the dealer used NMAC's buy rate lease money factor to calculate your monthly payment. Enjoy your new car!

Hi again ebetty. Oh, I thought that you had already pulled the trigger on your new Altima. I guess not. Here's the latest info for you. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp.'s November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00174 and 60%, respectively. The number factor is the same for an otherwise identical 39 month lease, but the residual value is 59%.

Nissan is not providing any customer or dealer cash incentives on the '09 Altima this month, but it is running a stair-step program that provides dealers with a special cash allowance that escalates as they sell more units. This will only amount to a couple hundred dollars, but it might motivate dealers to take thinner deals than they normally would to hit their objectives.

What you heard is correct, careyd1. The Altima's money factors are better, but its residual values are slightly worse in November, making things basically a wash. You are actually better off if you finalized your deal at the end of November. Nissan was running a special $500 bonus cash incentive on the '09 Altima then that has since expired.
