Hi Tony. If you were to lease a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2WD through Chrysler Financial right now for 24 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be an unbelievably low .00001 and 50%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease should be .00107 and 45%. If you were to lease with only 12,000 miles per year, the 24 month residual value would be 1% higher and the 36 month residual value would be 2% higher.

Car_man thanks for the info.... After plugging all the numbers in at Leaseguide, they are telling me my payments should be $324.56/m for 24 months 15/K mileage $286.87/m for 36/m and 15K/yr. But I see the Residual price is based on MSRP not the Cap Cost, how come ?
Thanks for all the info so far, it has helped me know more about leasing before walking into the dealer.

Car_man just got a e-mail from the dealer and this is what he wrote me..
06 Jeep GC
MSRP 29145
net cap 24000
money factor 1.26 27 2.29 39 months
residual 14863 13407
payments 387x27 357x39
He left out some important info like how much the fee's are for this car. But what do you think so far ? The money factor is not in line with what you quoted me.

I would like to lease a 2006 JGC Laredo X Package with a sticker price of $31,835 and $4,000 in rebates. I have a 2004 Pacifica with 6 payments left of $381.59 each (tax included) to trade in. Here's the deal:
-39 month lease
-12,000 miles
-no cash down
-$397.49 a month (tax included)
-they will eat the Pacifica's 6 payments
The original deal was $490 a month with $2247 cash down. I haggled down to the current deal.
I can't wait to see what you think!!

discover3 what is your Net Cap on the Jeep ? I found out that the dealers are willing to deal on them, the GC I want, I got for 8K off MSRP and that is with the 3K....

discovery3 that isn't a good deal, if MSRP is $31K+ and the net cap is $30k+ where did that 3K rebate come into play ? Dealer invoice for the Jeep base is $25K 4x2 and $27K 4x4, the X pkg is $3278 dealer invoice. Now there is dealer hold back of 8% on MSRP that is the profit the dealer can play with... Your sounds like a 4x2 w/ 4.7 v8 that option is $635 dealer cost... Again you should be able to get that jeep for $26K... you have nothing to lose but a lot to gain..

I'm sorry, I gave you the wrong net cap. All these terms confuse me! The net cap is $26K and change. The car I want is the 4x2 3.7 Liter v6 engine. When I met with the sales guy, I was not basing the lease price on the net cap of the car (oops!), but on what I wanted my payments to be based on the Pacifica. I didn't want my payments to be much higher than that. So, does the $397.49 (tax included) sound any better now?

Yes, but to go into a dealership and say, take my trade (pay it off) and I'll take your new car all for payments at about my old payments isn't the right way to go about it. But I think you can get them lower on the Net Cap for a V6 GC.. The mileage different between the V6 and V8 (4.7) isn't that much and the GC weights a lot, the V6 really suffers... I got my dealer down to to 24K and that with a V8....
