I have to believe that given the economy and gas prices the 08 Ms aren't selling particularly well

For purposes of getting a good purchase or lease price I hope for your sake that you are correct.

Sorry to beat a dead horse on this topic but even though I agree that Infiniti could/and is doing things to improve mileage (see introduction of 7sp auto on 2009 FX), the difference between it and it's competitors is not as great as everyone complains about.

To whit, look at the new EPA number for the cars in the class (15k/yr at $3.49/gal) with a 55/45 city/hwy split):

            Infiniti M45 ($2911) BMW550 ($2911) Audi A6(4.2) ($2911) M-B E550 ($3078) and Lexus GS460 ($2618)

         Infiniti M35 ($2754) BMW535 ($2618) AudiA6 ($2492) M-B E350 ($2754) LexGS350 ($2382) and Cadillac CTS ($2445)

Are these differences in annual fuel costs significant for a car in these price ranges?

I have a 06 M35X w/Xenon, Heated/Cooled seats, Rear BU camera and bluetooth with a 39/mo 15K lease taxes in 1st plus title and dealer charges drive away. Current lease pmt is $598.75/mo.

I am over my milage by about 2K and I have until Stptember 8th. What are the deals that people are getting on a 36/mo 15K lease for a M35X with the same equipment listed above?

Thanks,

Update on lease-end and deal on 2008 M35x by nrwayne

First, the inspection, which turned out to be no big deal. Although I was concerned about my tires, a few scrapes on the rear panel, and on one wheel, the inspector dismissed most of this as normal wear and said the damage amounted to $140, which would be covered by the $500 loyalty waiver. So much for that.
Second, I just had the Bluetooth fix installed and called a few people to get their reactions. Seemed to be improved, if not perfect.
Third, I called Competition Infiniti in Smithtown to check on the deal for a 2008 M35x. Neither of the sales people who arranged my earlier lease were still there so I hung up and went to Plan B, which is competitive bidding through www.leasewise.com. It ain't cheap ($305), but for that price they get you at least six bids from nearby dealers. The bids come back as $$ over (or under) dealer invoice and specify document fees as well. Last time around, my deal was at dealer invoice and the document fee was $45. That alone paid for the cost of the service since most of the dealers were in the $299 to $399 range to draw up the papers. The service provides a complete report, which typically takes five to 10 days. Once it's received, you compare the deals and call those with the most favorable packages. It saves a lot of time, money, and whatever concern you may have about getting the best possible deal. If there's a better way, I haven't found it.

Advice on lease ending options by jeremyw

I have three payments left on an '06 M35 Sport w/Nav lease that ends in July. I'm not planning to lease another Infiniti and was curious to find out if this would have any impact on the lease end process. It's a 24 month lease with a 20,000 mile/year limit. I should finish the lease about 5000 miles under the limit, but all four tires need to be replaced and a I have a scrape on the edge of one 19" sport wheel...otherwise the car is in excellent condition. Does anyone have any advice on approaching the lease end? Would I be better off to get my pay-off and trade it in with another dealer before I spend $1000+ on tires and a wheel touch up?

Thanks for the help!

Lease Factors? by finadv

Car_Man,

I'm interested in leasing an '08 M35X. Can you give me the MF and residual for a 39 month lease? Are the numbers for a 24 month better right now? I've been seeing that it may be cheaper to lease based on 24 mos. Do you have the numbers for a 24 month lease also?

Thanks,
Alan

2008 M35x deal: much better than 2006 by nrwayne

I got nine bids for a 24-month lease of an M35x w/Nav and 15,000 miles. Best was $548.72 plus tax and tags. Initial payment is $595 bank fee + first month's lease fee. Document fee is $45. Most of the dealers passed on what appears to be a manufacturer's incentive of about $2500, including a loyalty incentive of $1000. The highest quote was $663.36 + doc fee of $189. The latter apparently had no interest in passing on the incentives.
The low-end deal was based on dealer invoice minus $2553 with no additional fee for vehicles located within 100 miles, no dealer-installed options, and no other dealer fees. I got my 2006 from the same dealer, received first-class treatment then, and expect ditto now. FYI, the money factor for a 24-month lease is .00084 and the residual is 64%. Additional mileage is 10 cents/mile up front. I can't imagine doing this well and as quickly by calling or visiting multiple dealers.

That sounds like a great deal. A couple of questions if you don't mind.

What was the MSRP on the car?

How did you get multiple quotes? Did you request a quote on each dealer's website or some other way? Sounds like you didn't visit each one which is great. It takes so much time in a dealer trying to get a good price, and then to do it multiple times. Sounds like you found a better route.

Thanks,
Alan

Wow - 9 bids and it's still the beginning of the month! I had pretty much crossed the 2008 M35x off my list until I saw the new $2000 incentive that was introduced this month and runs until June 30th, which is right when my lease ends. I'm 2 months away from my 21 month lease ending on my 2006 M35x, and only have 14000 miles. I got a killer deal back then and I'm only paying $528/month (tax included). I only put down inceptions and got the car for around $600 below invoice and the residual was like 71% and money factor was like .0001 when I did the lease. Haven't seen a 21 month, or even any more of those crazy 12 month leases on the FX since ...

As long as the $2000 incentive remains (it should, since it says it's good until June) and hopefully the money factor drops in either May or June to a level like I got last time out, then this car becomes an option again.

I had pretty much figured I'd be going with a G35 ... but this changes things.

Does anyone have the money factor for April yet? Residuals should be about the same or a 1% drop ...

Good luck everyone!

Leasing a M35 by djrampage7

Hey all,

I'm about to start shopping around for a lease on an Infiniti M32 with the sport and tech package. I put some numbers in the calculator leaseguide and am coming up wiht about $630 a month.. thats with $0 down and 7% sales tax.

That seems kinda high, considering that I've read some posts on here about people getting lease deals at around $550 a month.

Just curious to see what other deals people are getting before I walk into the lion's den.

Thanks!

MSRP: 49,165 with AWD and NAV. I used a nonprofit pricing service called Leasewise which is found at www.carbargains.org. They guarantee at least six bids. Told me it would take seven business days to get me a report. I got it in two days.
