So I have been browsing this and a few other forums trying to figure out the numbers game and what a go0d deal is. I am lo0king and trying to make a deal on a '08 G37 6MT Blue Slate with Premium Package. From what I've seen on this forum, most people are settling on a purchase price either right at or less than $200 above Invoice Price. The dealership that has the car I want is telling me the minimum offer they would accept is $500 over invoice + tax, title, fees. I am in Lexington, KY and the dealership is in Cincinatti, OH. Should I be able to talk them down more off that price? I was told by a dealership here that the 6MTs are kinda hard to move since most people want an automatic Infiniti. Is this true? If it is, I should be able to work that leverage in my favor, no? Thanks in advance.

Replying to: rjdoc74 (Jun 05, 2008 3:33 pm) To answer your question even with your smart  ss attitude, the base is NORMALLY 1 to 2 % higher residual than the journey and uses the same MF. Since the dealer can't change the residual whatever they tell you is right. Since you know the journey number you will be able to detect a dealer marking up the rates if the quote you higher than the buy rate on the journey. If they offer you the buy rate on the journey then I would think it likely that they would give you the buy rate on the base. I just get tired of folks asking the same questions over and over - they pop in and want the data to be "served up" to them with no effort on their part - like simply reading the other messages in the forum. Replying to: gforce11 (Jun 05, 2008 3:56 pm) Often I don't get or see the 39 month numbers, they USED to be the same as the 36 month deals but with 3 more payments which made them very attractive for most folks. Now they will often vary the residual and even MF from 36 to 39. The 39 seems to be always cheaper per month, but sometimes not by much. Dennis |
