Note that I changed the subject .

I don't think the price went up that much, but that would almost be true for a no options car. If they ordered you a base car today it would cost about as much as an old stock journey with no options. It would still be a LOT less than a journey + premium would be, however.

They all have access to the inventories and on order for the whole country and if they can't find one then I would say there is none to find. Keep in mind, if your local dealer gets the car for you from some far away dealer your cost could be several hundred in transport charges - which wipes out the savings. They don't make any money unless you buy or lease from them, so if you are dead set on a no option base or journey they should try to sell you one if they can find it. A lot of salesfolks are really helpful and nice, perhaps one can tell you where the bare journeys are so you can contact those dealers direct and use your VPP and save on transport charges, etc.

The premium pack is very popular and most dealers (given a choice) would never order a journey or even 6mt sedan or coupe without it. I did drive a base 6mt sedan once - totally no options on it at all. I wonder if that ever sold? I think the dealer's fear that most folks are NOT like you and want all that stuff. If you don't, you don't, but to the dealers you may be in the minority.

Never put that much money into a lease - if the car is stolen or totalled you could lose it all.

The most important factor in determining if a lease is good or bad is the negotiated price of the car - which you do not state (or don't know). If the price of the car with destination and dealer's doc / prep fee is within $500 of invoice (including dest) then you have a nice price and we can move on to the lease terms. If not, then no matter what else you are paying too much.

Dennis.

Spoke to IFS yesterday on the new lease and lease return which i anticipate this week. When i brought up the subject of Multiple Security Deposits, they did confirm that even in the event of a loss, specifically either a theft or total loss the MSD's are not jeopardized. Every IFS lease has Gap coverage incorporated into it, which secures the MSD's.

I also received multiple quotes on a new G35X with Premium Package and 2 local NJ dealers were able to offer invoice. Just debating on the color now.

I would get that in writing from them before I plunked my money down "just in case".

Best I have gotten from 3 quotations is $3000 down and $432 per month, tax title and license included. I would be pleased to give your salesperson another sale if you think he would duplicate the deal! Any chance to get scanned copy of the offer? Thanks.
