Just offered this lease for an Infiniti G35x AWD - PLEASE HELP expires soon by acgutierrez

Here is the deal, I'm in MA and I have been offered the following for a lease on a 2006 G35x AWD with Navigation, Satellite Radio and Premium package:
Length: 24 month lease
Mileage: 12,000 miles
Money factor factor: .00126
Residual: 70%
Base M.S.R.P: $39,800 (including satellite only)
Money upfront: $2,000 (including tax, license, registration, first month, other fees, etc)
Now before he gave me this breakdown, he told me my monthly payments would be $400 with tax per month (5% MA sales tax).

Does this sound right? It seems to me like a high Base price for that little monthly payment, how can he do it? Should I go for this?

That's all I got from him, so assume that the MSRP IS the selling price, that's the part of the equation I'm trying to fill out. I have all the other charges, the expected monthly payment, I'm back tracking basically

Thanks James. Infiniti Financial Services charges a $550 acquisition fee on all leases, regardless of consumers' credit ratings. Vehicles' residual values are always based upon a percentage of their full MSRPs, including the destination charge and the MSRPs of any options that can be residualized. If you can't afford to pay any more than $34,500 for this car, just tell the dealer that is the absolute most that you will pay...including all of the fees that they normally try to add. If you were to lease a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe with an MSRP of MSRP $37,390 and a selling price of $34,500 through IFS right now for 24 months with 10,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment would be around $451.

Hi justlookin4. All banks that lease vehicles to consumers charge an acquisition fee. Infiniti Financial Services charges an acquisition fee of $550 on all leases. Individual dealers do not have the authority to waive this charge. You can either pay it at lease signing or have it added into your car's capitalized cost.

Greetings knr5. Let's work up a sample lease payment on the car that you are considering and see what we come up with. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2006 Infiniti G35 Sedan 2WD with an MSRP of $35,750 and a selling price of $34,704 ($1,000 over dealer invoice which you definitely should be able to get) through Infiniti Financial Services right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $467.

I see that you are considering paying your vehicle's sales tax at lease signing. I personally feel that you are better off just rolling it into your lease. You can do so at an interest rate that is equivalent to around 3.8%, which is pretty good. By paying tax at lease signing, you risk losing it if your vehicle is involved in an accident or stolen.

As far as whether to purchase your current car at lease-end goes, if its selling price is around or less than what you would have to pay for a similar car on the open market there's nothing wrong with buying it. Whether you do so or not all depends upon whether you want a new vehicle or don't mind continuing to drive your old one.

Hi jshuler1. A base 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe has a spread of over $2,600 between its full MSRP and dealer invoice prices. You are being quoted a discount of $1,740 on the specific car that you are considering. This is probably around $1,000 over invoice or so, which is a reasonable price. Using an MSRP of $35,640 and a selling price of $33,900, I estimate that this car should have a 36 month, 15,000 mile per year zero down, pre-tax monthly payment of around $487. The lease payment that you were quoted definitely looks fair to me.

Hello Flo. If you were to lease a 2006 Infiniti G35 2WD Sedan through Infiniti Financial Services right now for 24 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00133 and 70%, respectively. I would be happy to use these numbers to estimate what your lease payment will be on this car, but in order for me to do so I need you to provide me with an approximate selling price for it. You should be able to get an idea of how much you should pay for this car right now by visiting the following discussion: "Infiniti G35: Prices Paid & Buying Experience".
