Hi cav25. While it's annoying, most dealers charge some sort of doc fee on deals. To be honest with you, a $100 fee isn't really that bad. Many dealers charge much higher doc fees than that. I always advise consumers to focus on the big picture when negotiating their deal. Look at the total price that you are being charged for the Odyssey that you want, including the doc fee. If you feel as though this van's total price is less than or equal to what you would have to pay for it elsewhere, it doesn't really matter how the price breaks down.

You're very welcome, sjtash. Honda's June lease program for the Odyssey is exactly the same as its May program was.

Hello siameses. Let's take a look at the selling price that you were quoted for the van that you are interested in. The dealer invoice price for a 2009 Odyssey EX-L with RES and Navigation is $34,139. If you subtract the available $2,500 dealer cash from that, it drops to $31,639.

If you are in an area that has a decent level of competition, I would be surprised if you weren't able to negotiate a lower selling price than the $34,000 that you were quoted. I personally would shoot for a selling price in the low $32,000s and see what happens.

As far as this van's lease program goes, Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Odyssey EX-L with RES, Navigation, and 15,000 miles per year are .00250 and 46%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its "Super Preferred" credit tier. If you were to lease with only 12,000 miles per year, this vehicle's residual value would be 2% higher.

Hey medmdmd. Banks' residual values do not vary by region and individual dealers do not have the authority to alter them. They do however vary by trim level. The 48% residual value that you were quoted is correct for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Odyssey EX-L RES with 12,000 miles per year.

Good question, medmdmd. Unfortunately, I do not believe that Honda Finance waives its acquisition fee for current lessees who lease a new vehicle. I really don't think that Honda Finance ever waives its acquisition fee. You can either pay it at lease signing or have it added to your vehicle's selling price to bake it into your monthly payment.

Hi how713. Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Odyssey EX-L with navigation, RES, and 15,000 miles per year are .00250 and 46%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Super Preferred" credit tier.

If I was in the market for this van right now, I personally would shoot for a selling price of around $500 over dealer invoice minus the $2,500 dealer cash that is available on it. That would be around $32,200.

Using this selling price and the aforementioned lease program, I come up with a zero down, pre-tax monthly lease payment of around $538.

Hi sjtash. To borrow a phrase from blackjack, your gamble was a push. Honda's incentives and lease program on the Odyssey are basically the same in June as they were in May.

Honda did introduce a dealer stairstep program on its trucks in late May that provides dealers who hit their sales target with up to an additional $1,000, but individual consumers will never know if the dealer that they are working with has qualified for this car. At least this program will make many dealers more motivated to move some iron as quickly as possible.

Hi cfkid. I would be happy to crunch some numbers to check the ones that you came up with for you. However, in order for me to do so I need you to provide me with both the MSRPs and selling prices of these vans. You only mentioned the latter. Post the MSRPs for me and I'll double check the payments for you.

Oh, sorry about that. I knew that, I just assumed...

LX MSRP - $27,065
EX MSRP - $30,125

Thanks for the quick reply.

2009 Odyssey EX Lease by phani119

Hi folks,

Can any of you please tell me if I am getting a decent deal here for a 2009 Odyssey EX.

I negotiated a lease price of $399 for a 36 month lease with 15K miles/year and 0 down. When I take possession of the car, I was told that the only thing I need to pay for is the plate cost which is about $156 in MI. The first payment of $399 will be 30 days form the time I take the car and in total there will be 35 payments.

Is this a good deal? Thanks

Phani
