Buying Soon by mike6711

I will be buying a T&C by the end of the month, lease actually, and would like to know the residuals and money factor for the NY metro area. Would be leasing a T&C. 12K miles/year, 27 or 36 or 39 months, Touring Signature Series. Also, is there conquest cash available, some dealers are advertising it.

Thanks

Do any of you start with a lease intending to keep it after your lease is up? Leasing would help us get into vehicle at the price we need any thoughts??

Here is pricing:
MSRP 32500
Invoice 29725

dealer price including my rebates is 25425. Payment $317 plus tax---haven't been to dealer for a breakdown of the payment yet.

We would still be at 17000 after 3 years.

I am leasing an 08 T&C with Signature New Day Package. I have had a difficult time finding out all the incentives. Most websites do not list all of them. Three dealers offered me the following: $1500 rebate, $500 bonus cash, $1000 owner loyalty , $500 Auto show Bonus (Great Lakes Region due to Auto Show in Cleveland), $750 conquest cash. This totals $4250 in rebates and incentives before any dealer discount. The fourth dealer said that I would not qualify for the conquest cash since it is only if I were driving a competing brand (Ford, Chevrolet, etc). I called the Chrysler Rebate Center and first was told that I did qualify for conquest cash. I called a second time and was told that I did not qualify. I now feel that the three dealers were including it, but taking it off as part of their dealer discount. The fourth dealer gave me the best price. There is a lot of confusion out there on rebates and incentives. I would like to see it in writing somewhere, but that is difficult. Most of the car quote websites do not list all the rebates and incentives. As to your lease term, I think that the better deals will be on 36 months. It appears to be the "sweet spot" this year. I would avoid 39 months. I am on 39 months now and wish that I had gone for 36. I had had a big range in quotes so do your homework and be persistent. I am still not sure I am getting the best deal.

Thats a fabulous deal. I am getting my new T&C on Monday with the identical MSRP and didn't get near as good a deal as this. Where do you live?? As to buying the car that you will be leasing, I would advise against this. You may be able to negotiate a good price with whoever holds the lease. Since you say you will have only 17,000 miles on it, that may be right for you. I always use the full mileage allowed and would just rather walk away and lease a new one. My present one will go to auction and I doubt if it will bring close to what the buy out would be now.

Glad to know the deal is good !! We live in Omaha, NE.....

I meant we would have a $17000 residual... I have no doubt we will exceed the mileage. Problem with not keeping the vehicle is--we are a two vehicle family and we each take turns getting the new vehicle every 5-7 years. So the vehicle that I get now will need to last 10-12 years. Can't afford two car payments at what prices are now days............

We have never leased before--so I am still trying to figure things out.

Thanks for your quick reply. Since you are keeping the van that long then it may make sense for you to buy. I have not seen all of my figures yet, but my residual is $17,082. My upfront cost is $766.82. That amount includes the first months payment and 7% tax on the rebates and incentives and $75 document and transfer fees. I have no security deposit. I did not put any money down. My monthly payment including state tax of 7% is $394. The MSRP is $32,640 after the Signature package of $1525 is deducted. Mine did include the Sirus backseat TV, which I did not want, but had a hard time finding a New Day Signature edition in color I wanted with only the L package. Very few dealers in my area have these now and I had to deal before the Auto Show discount expires next week. Did you get the conquest cash of $750? Did you also get the owner loyalty $1000. How did you get such a great deal?? I also did not have a trade-in since I have been leasing a T&C. My total rebates and incentives were $3500. As I said in an earlier post some dealers were giving me the conquest cash, which they may have been taking out of their own discount. I should also add that this is for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year. My monthly payment would have been less with 12,000 miles per year although I did not get those figures. I did not use the pull ahead and am making another payment on my current van. If you use a pull ahead you do not get the owner loyalty $1000 or at least they prorate it. I am keeping my current van until end of lease and using the remaining miles to keep the miles off my new van.I thought about waiting until April 1st to see if the incentives got better, but decided to do it now. It is sort of like "Deal or no Deal"

I started with 3 different dealers about 2 weeks ago. We both hate the car dealing--my husband usually ends up walking out mad. So this time he said, "Make the deal and tell me where to sign". I started out looking at the LX adding the DVD --decided on the Touring after research and residual values. I told each dealer that I was going to three different places --if their price was the lowest that I would be back. One dealer told me he would give me $4300 under invoice on any car on the lot this month(That one was on the internet) so I went back to the first dealer (I liked the salesman better) and asked them if they would match the deal.

$4300 breaks down like this..... so they say. $2500 my rebates and $1800 dealer money. I do not qualify for $1000 lease loyalty.. do qualify for the $750 in owning another Chrysler product--So not sure where the extra over the $1500 is coming from...

I have not sat down with the finance guys yet...I have alot of questions about money down, first payment, etc. I do have a 2006 Caravan to trade--I told them they have to pay off my loan for it --to make the deal.

Thanks again for answering my post. Call the Chrysler Rebate Center at 1-800-227-0757 and ask for the current rebates on Town and Country Touring. They will ask you your zip code to find the rebates and incentive for your region (these vary). If you do not qualify for the $1000 owner loyalty but the conquest cash of $750., it would appear that you should get $2750. They are currently offering $1500 plus $500 bonus cash. If there is an auto show in your region, you would get another $500. The Auto Show for my region is in Cleveland, 200 miles from me, but I qualify anyway.

Did you mean that they would take $4400 off the Dealer invoice or the MSRP. Dealer Invoice for your van is in the upper $29000 range. The other factors, of course are the money factor and residual. By law, I believe that they are supposed to show you all factors up front. None of my dealers did. Your trade and paying off your old van will complicate matters, so it is difficult to campare your deal with mine. You should also ask about the Conquest cash ($750). I was told that I would qualify for that if I were leaving a Ford, Chevrolet, or any other brand and going into a Chrysler vehicle. As I said in an earlier post, one person in the rebate center told me that I qualified for both the Owner loyalty and conquest cash. The second call I made the another person told me that I did not qualify. It would seem that even though you have a Dodge you are staying with a Chrysler product and that would count for owner loyalty.

I also hate trading as your husband does. It is hard to nail down all these things when you receive conflicting stories. I am sure you also know that there are three base Town and Country Touring prices out there. The new ones coming in reflect a $610 price increase over those that were built early in the model year. These prices are $27,700, $27,895 and $28,310. This is base before any options, but is reflected in the MSRP.. Good luck Let us know how things work out.

In our area--there is only the $1500 lease cash and $750 for current owners. We are looking at the $28310 plus the L pkg.... $32500. Yes, the $4300 is below invoice not MSRP.

I will let you know --how the deal works out. Thanks for the advice and information.

Thanks again for your reply. Go on Chrysler's own website and click on the T&C then Build one. After you have built it with the L package to the right they will show the sticker and at the bottom they show the New Day Package discount of $1525. They also show the $1500 rebate and below it $500 bonus cash. To my knowledge the bonus cash is not regional and you should qualify for it. They do not show the owner loyalty or conquest cash there since the person using this build site might not be a Chrysler owner. Will look forward to seeing your deal. That discount you are getting below invoice is fabulous.
