Good or Bad Deal by freedomrings

I am new to leasing. (WOW, alot to learn) I am looking at a Chrysler Pacifica Touring, MSRP Apx 29,000. I was told that If I can get a EC number, I will get the $3,000.00 off. THe Basic current deal: $2,220.00 down plus tax, title transfer, payments would be 235.00 a month for 27 months at 15,000.00. This sounds pretty good, but I have no way of knowing. Am I suppossed to negotiate the selling price of the car and then get the payment. This is the basic twist on what is being advertised on TV.
Help and thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Car_Man,
I am looking into leasing a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, Base Model AWD. Can you tell me what residual percentage and lease money factor I can expect for a 36 month lease with 12K miles/ year. Also, can you tell me how to calculate the tax requirement for NY state on this vehicle.

Thank You,
Zep

Hi freedomrings. Did you have a good time watching the Super Bowl last week? I'm sure that it must have been crazy in Detroit . Since you are new to the world of leasing, you definitely should check out the following informative articles that are available here at Edmunds.com prior to visiting any dealers: 10 Steps to Leasing a New Car and Calculate Your Own Lease Payment.

In answer to your specific question, yes you absolutely should negotiate the selling price of the vehicle that you are interested in before discussing payments with dealers.

I'd be happy to help you out, Zep. According to the latest information that I have seen, if you were to lease a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Base AWD through Chrysler Financial right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00049 and 45%, respectively. When negotiating this deal, keep in mind that DaimlerChrysler is currently providing $4,000 lease cash on it. Not to mention the fact that DCX is kicking back dealers $1,000 dealer cash on most vehicles that they sell this month. These cash incentives should help you to negotiate a very attractive capitalized cost for your lease.

I am not personally all that familiar with how sales tax is calculated on leased vehicles in your state, but you may be able to find out more information on the subject by visiting the following sites: New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Internet Office or New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.

Lease Special on Touring in Houston by howard2dot0

According to Edmunds, there is a lease special on Touring 2WD for $299/month for 36 months at 12k miles/year with $1999 at signing in 77381 zipcode which is where I live.
I went to one dealer who spent more than 2 hours trying to make the numbers work, but they couldn't figure out how to come to $299. What is going on here? Don't these guys know about the deal if Edmunds knows about it?
Does anyone know any Houston dealers that can make this deal work? I am so ready to sign the deal with anyone who will make this deal work.

I am on Long Island. Does anyone know the current MF and residual amt for a touring AWD with the 26u pkg plus moonroof? I am looking to lease this week and the numbers seem to be all over the place. Thanks.

Hi dontbuyakia. This vehicle's lease program varies depending upon how long you lease it for and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive it. For now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different. Chrysler Financial's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a base 2006 Chrysler Pacifica AWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00023 and 41%, respectively. The numbers are different for the Touring and Limited models so let me know if you want one of those instead of the base model.

Thanks- did not know there were different numbers. I am looking at a touring AWD model. MSRP is 36115. Selling price is 27585 (almost 9000 off not bad). Lease is coming up at 386/mo with a total out of pocket of 1680 plus plates (about 170 here in NY) for a 36/month 12k lease. I have to make the deal today to get this price. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Car Man.

I am looking at a lease on a 2006 Pacifica FWD Touring, loaded but no navigation system - quoted $29217 (includes $2500 plus $1000 re-lease option and $1000 loyalty rebate) lease 39 months at $435 with no money down and money factor at .00059, residual of $12252 - how does this deal sound? I really want lower per month payments but they say they can't do with money down - $1250 down will take my payments of $401/mth with same residual. I'm in Georgia. 15K miles per year If you could respond ASAP as I have to give them an answer today since last day of month and specials. Thanks.

pete6,
I posted the above post. I currently am trying to figure out if I am geting a good deal and it sounds a lot better than yours- 06 Touring AWD, loaded- MSRP 36115 and selling price of 27500. Lease is 386 with 1690 down- nothing else but plates. I am in NY but I can't see it being that much higher where you are.
