Hi stvroy. BMW's current lease program is scheduled to run through April 30th. While anything is possible, I personally don't expect BMW to make any changes to the 3-Series Convertible's lease program before the beginning of May. It's difficult to say whether BMW will enhance its lease program on this car then. It has started providing a little support on 3-Series Convertibles, first with the inventory cash payments in February and now with a slightly enhanced money factor, so the trend is your friend if you decide to wait. However, we're already into spring and headed towards summer (man I can't believe that it's almost April already) and convertibles usually sell better when its warm out than they do during the winter so perhaps BMW won't have to enhance its support on it.

If you decide to order a car, BMW has a program that will enable you to lock in its current lease program. The advantage of doing this is if this car's lease program gets worse you can take advantage of the current one when your car arrives. If the program gets better, you can get out of your rate lock and take advantage of the new, improved program.

Hey yatzee. As boe747lcf just helpfully posted, BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor for the 2008 328i Sedan is .00175. As far as the acquisition fee goes, BMW FS charges a $625 acquisition fee in every vehicle that it leases. The dealer that you are working with is marking up the base acquisition fee to add $200 additional hidden profit to your deal. This sort of thing is very common amongst BMW dealers. There's really nothing wrong with it, as long as you are aware of this profit and take it into account during your negotiations.

Hi paws101. The money factor that you were quoted is right in line with BMW Financial Services' current buy rate for this model, so that is a good sign. As far as the selling price goes, the car that you described probably has a spread of around $3,000 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. Given the fact that you are in an area that likely has a number of BMW dealers, you may be able to do better than the $1,330 discount that you were quoted by comparison shopping with a few other dealers in your area.

Hi
Car man thanks for the reply- just one other quick question
when I'm figuring the actual monthly payment the formula is:

final negotiated price
+
residual payment
x
MF= finance charge per month
then I divide the depreciation over lease term and add that amount to the finance charge which should be the monthly payment. how does NJ add the sales tax is it to the final monthly payment amount?

Car_man,

I was wondering if you could let me know what the current money factor and residual is for a 2008 328i coupe. I am looking to lease for 36 or 39 months with 10,000 miles per year.

Thanks for the help!

MSDs = Multiple Security Deposits. I believe that Edmunds does not permit me to tell the name of the sales associate, and you do not have your e-mail posted, therefore, I cannot tell you.

I am new to leasing and to this forum.

I am looking for following configs. -

3.0-liter, turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine

Base MSRP $40,800
Jet Black $0
Black Leatherette $0
Dark Burl Walnut wood trim $0
Sport Package $1,100
Heated front seats $500
Navigation system $2,100
HD radio $350
iPod and USB adapter $400
BMW Assist with Bluetooth System $750
Destination & Handling: $775
Total MSRP as Built $46,775

I have one quote so far - $660 + tax for 36/12k/2500

I understand I shouldnt put any money down. I am reading more about MSD. Didnt ask the dealer about MF, dont remember exact residual value (I think 60%).

What are the things that I can negotiate? I live in Atlanta, GA. I am traveling to Germany for my school-reunion in June 1st week, how do negotiations change if I did an ED?

Thanks a ton in advance!!

Thanks for the link for BMW Lease rate, I was able to calculate my base monthly payment. I have one question though, does the base monthly payment calculated does not include Taxes. Should it be included? I live in NJ and Sales tax is 7%, so if the CapCost of 37,000 then tax is $2590/36 months which will give $71.94 per month. Is this added to the calculated monthly base payment ?
I am returning 325i BMW lease due next Month , I am trying to learn to get the best possible and affordable monthly payments I can with $1,000 due on signing.
thanks for your help guys, I love this site!
