"I'm thinking $44k on the purchase price and the bye rate of .00245. Is this realistic?"

Absolutely, but a lot will depend on how much competition the dealer thinks he's involved with. Are there other dealers within 25-50 miles? Are you willing to travel even farther than that to get your car? Sometimes certain parts of the country are willing to deal and others aren't. A cheap one-way airline ticket (oxymoron, I know, but sometimes. . .) can save you hundreds or more.

Now that you know what you're talking about, a serious dealership that just wants to get a unit moved may do exactly what you want, but you need to be willing to present your case to 5-10 of them.

Good luck, and continue to keep us posted.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am willing to fly to other dealerships for sure. I have a few hundred thousand airline miles, so the flight won't cost me anything. In terms of dealerships here, there are about 4-5 within that radius. I'm going to have to order the vehicle regardless, so I'm trying to find the right one that is willing to order and make a $1,000 or so.

I have ordered a 2008 328i in Sparkling Graphite with BMW Assist (MSRP $34,400) and got it at $426 with 7 MSDs, which includes 7% tax. I believe that this came out from being charged $996 over invoice + $495 dealer's fee, which I consider to be pretty good for Miami, when they do not give significant discounts. Actually, I did it in Fort Lauderdale, at Holman BMW. The drive off will be the 1st month + tag transfer. I am currently leasing a 2006 BMW 325i, so no security and such crap.

Congratulations on your new 328i, elizariev. $136 over dealer invoice plus the use of BMW Financial Services' buy rate lease money factor is an excellent deal. Thanks for taking the time to share the details with everyone. If you haven't stopped by there yet, make sure to hop on over the the Dealer Ratings & Reviews section of Edmunds.com to share your thoughts on your recent dealer experience with everyone. Enjoy your new ride .
