I know it's speculation, but what do you all think rates will do over the next couple of months? The base rate dropped from .00275 in February to .00245, but they are still much higher than the coupe and sedan. Do you think they will continue to drop? Also, if I order one now, do I get the rate now or do I contract and lock in at delivery? Thanks in advance.

When the vehicle comes in I'll pay the 1st payment, BMWFS acquisition fee, plate/regist fee, and taxes (less the $500 deposit). There is no security deposit since I'm a returning BMWFS customer. And when I turn in my 2005 330Ci, they will waive the $350 disposition fee. If I didn't re-up with BMW I'd have to pay that fee. I saw that my 335i is scheduled for production on BMW Owner's Circle. Hopefully will have it here in less than 6 weeks from now. Waiting....ugh.

I just configured up three different 3-Series cars, a Sedan, a Coupe, and a Sport Wagon, all at exactly $44,000, and all with exactly $4,000 "down" (kind of simulating ED savings). What I found disheartening was the huge disperity between the various monthly lease costs given three "identically" financed cars (3-Year/36,000 mile leases). Consider the following: 2008 328i Sedan -- $507 2008 328i Coupe -- $531 2008 328i Wagon -- $572 Ouch, that means that over the term of the lease, the Sport Wagon will cost $2,340 more (or nearly 13% more). Ouch, what's up with that? Best Regards, Shipo

Replying to: coby03 (Mar 10, 2008 4:56 pm) You must be so anxious to get your car.... I test drove the 335i this weekend and it was an incredible car. I sure hope that I get get a similar deal once I'm ready to buy (lease). But I suppose I need to keep a level head and not go overboard in payments too... so would the 0.0021 and 64% also be applicable for a 328i, or are there different numbers for that car? I really like the 335i but I'm thinking the 328i is also a nice car to drive. Thanks for the help. I'm sure we won't be seeing you in this forum in about six weeks since you'll be out enjoying your new ride every chance you get!

Replying to: shipo (Mar 10, 2008 6:34 pm) Looked at another way, configured apples to apples, the 328xi Sport Wagon that Mrs. Shipo is looking at comes out to $45,400 while an identical (from an option perspective) 535xi Sport Wagon comes out to $61,625, roughly 35% more. So far, so good, however, after calculating the lease prices given the ED discounts and such, I come up with 3-Year/36,000 mile and 3-Year/45,000 mile monthly lease prices of $548 and $571 for the 3-Series and $647 and $679 for the 5-Series, differences of only 18% and 19% respectively. So, the question is, why is BMW-FS picking on the 3-Series Wagon compared to virtually every other 3-Series and 5-Series car? Best Regards, Shipo

Replying to: shipo (Mar 10, 2008 8:04 pm) I knew they were subsidizing the 3 sedan, but it's exercises like this that illustrate the degree to which it's happening. Wagon, coupe, convertible, 5-series & all the rest need not apply. |

Replying to: cdnpinhead (Mar 11, 2008 5:42 am) BTW, I haven't looked for leasing numbers for so long that I actually don't know where to look for money factors and residuals. Best Regards, Shipo

Replying to: boe747lcf (Mar 10, 2008 6:47 pm) The 335i has great power and a high fun-to-drive factor, but everything I've seen and heard about the 328i is that it's no slouch. I currently have a 2005 330Ci with the ZHP package. From seat of the pants feel, it was pretty similar to the performance of a 328i coupe that I test drove but you would expect that given similar HP and Torque numbers. But the 335i was noticeably faster than either of them (I guess that's what 300 HP vs 230 HP will do). I couldn't really notice any significant handling differences, but I didn't beat on either of them during the test drives. As is said here many times, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Both are gerat cars. Good luck deciding!
