joffej,

There are many others in this forum that can dispense helpful advice, I just happened to have a great buying experience with a specific SoCal Audi dealer, which I shared with the group. That being said, I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

I think the deal that you can get will depend a lot on your area and being able to find a dealer that will meet your price. By reading through the posts in this forum, I think you'll be able to get a good idea of what you should expect to pay for your new car.

The fact that you're willing to travel outside of your immediate area will expand the number of dealers you can work with, and should increase your chances of finding a price that you're happy with. With '09 models hitting the lots soon, you should be able to get a pretty aggressive price on an '08.

If it comes down to a matter of a few dollars, I would recommend going with the dealer that you feel the most comfortable working with. For me personally, this was the biggest factor in my decision... not that I may have shaved a dollar or two off my payment by jumping through hoops at another dealership.

One thing to be aware of is the documentation fees. In California, these are capped at $55. However, I've read in a number of places that dealers in South Florida charge upwards of $500-600 for these fees. Most dealerships will not budge on these, so be cognizant of that when negotiating your price.

It's tough to speculate how low your local dealers will be willing to go, or what they'll throw in to get a deal done. The only way to know for sure is to contact them with a price in mind and go from there. So if you're looking to lease in the next 4 days, I'd suggest you get started.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

A4 sales price question on lease by sidney01

What is reasonable right now in terms of sales price on a car, esp. if the dealer has to get it from another state? Based on the list of specs/options I am interested in, my local dealer has to trade for it with a dealer a couple of hundred miles away. He is sitting firm on $900 over invoice on a fairly loaded a4 2.0 quattro. Is this reasonable? Other terms of the quote are listed in my other posting above.

I have to make a decision in the next couple of weeks. Thanks

Does the $2000 incentive apply to both?
Thanks.
