2008 Audi A4 Special Edition Lease in Socal by pkwestside

I want to give a shoutout to jdunnisher, without him, there's no way I would have gotten this car. I emailed the same West Covina dealer and got a similar offer on a new 2008 A4 2.0 T CVT Special Edition (Black on Black Leather) with ipod and bluetooth. He is one of the few that were willing to talk numbers over email/phone which was nice. I then called a few dealerships around the area to comparison shop and one said they could not match (Downtown LA), another said they could only match (Beverly Hills), another said they could match and would throw in free car washes and meals (when you come to the dealership - McKenna in Norwalk), another said they would do the same price and throw in the S suspension (Keyes in Van Nuys). All in all, I really liked the dealer (even though our correspondence had been over email and towards the end on the phone) and he was very upfront, honest, and straight forward so I ended up doing the deal with him and I was there for about an hr (and they picked me up from my house).

MSRP: 32,575 (including destination, bluetooth, iPod interface)
Selling price: 29,142
Adjusted cap: 30,367 ($650 Audi Care and $575 Acquisition Fee rolled in)
Residual Value: 17,265 (53%)
MF: 0.00002
36 months / 45,000 miles
Monthly payment: 35 payments of $365 + tax = $395
Due at signing: $0 (~$315 for dmv registration)

The only cons I've noticed thus far is that the ipod interface is really very basic (track names don't pop up, cant scroll through folders like an ipod) and I don't know if you can, but I haven't figured out how to scan through my preset radio stations using the steering wheel controls.

Thanks again Jordan! Happy hunting!

I am so glad I stumbled onto this site! I am planning on going to try and lease and Audi A4 in the south florida area tomorrow (either Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm). I can lease anywhere. I would love to get the same exact deal pkwestside got. A few questions:

1) do you think that is the best deal I can get;

2) If no, what other "extras" do you think I can get; and

3) How do I go about getting (at a minimum) the deal that pkwestside got? (should I just walk in and say "Ill buy the car if I get this deal. etc?"

THANKS! A speedy reply would be great. I need to lease a car within the next 4 days.

joffej,

There are many others in this forum that can dispense helpful advice, I just happened to have a great buying experience with a specific SoCal Audi dealer, which I shared with the group. That being said, I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

I think the deal that you can get will depend a lot on your area and being able to find a dealer that will meet your price. By reading through the posts in this forum, I think you'll be able to get a good idea of what you should expect to pay for your new car.

The fact that you're willing to travel outside of your immediate area will expand the number of dealers you can work with, and should increase your chances of finding a price that you're happy with. With '09 models hitting the lots soon, you should be able to get a pretty aggressive price on an '08.

If it comes down to a matter of a few dollars, I would recommend going with the dealer that you feel the most comfortable working with. For me personally, this was the biggest factor in my decision... not that I may have shaved a dollar or two off my payment by jumping through hoops at another dealership.

One thing to be aware of is the documentation fees. In California, these are capped at $55. However, I've read in a number of places that dealers in South Florida charge upwards of $500-600 for these fees. Most dealerships will not budge on these, so be cognizant of that when negotiating your price.

It's tough to speculate how low your local dealers will be willing to go, or what they'll throw in to get a deal done. The only way to know for sure is to contact them with a price in mind and go from there. So if you're looking to lease in the next 4 days, I'd suggest you get started.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
