Comparison by valuehunter07

Ok now we're getting somehwere....

So when I see the $347 payment for the TSX above, and then I compare to the $411 payment I saw someone make on the IS, the difference doesn't seem wide enough, for the price difference in the cars.

After all, on the one side you've got an IS with add-ons like Nav, Prem package, and 18" wheels, and on the other side it's just the base (NON-Tech package)!

Now that I can view what's going on a little better, I can now see that the TSX customer paid an MF of .00215, while the IS customer paid only .0006!

Now the IS customer paid a $3200 deposit (not a cap-reduction, but a deposit), but even still, I've seen others over there who paid NO deposit, and got an MF of .00085!

I'm going to do some more research, but hopefully this will encourage some helpful feedback, so we can make some more educated choices as to what is best for us individually.

Any leasing expert will tell you do not do a cap cost reduction. The disadvantage of a cap cost reduction is that, should your vehicle get stolen or totaled in an accident, you probably won't get any of the down payment returned to you.

If you are worried about higher payments take the money that you would have put down to cut the payment in a higher interest savings account. If and when you need to make a lower car payment take some of the money out of savings to help with the payment.

Funny...

In your last example: The cap cost is the cap cost... The first payment is accounted for in the money due at signing...

So, if you don't change the the cap cost, you'll find that the numbers come out exactly...

The closest dealership from my local dealership is 90 miles away. You might check within 100 miles. Patience is the key to getting a good deal. Work your numbers, come up with a price and payment your comfortable, then present to at least 5 dealerships. Let them come to you with their best offer.
I just leased a TSX in the past week, and love it. I feel I got a good deal.
When requestingfor a quote, ask for the details to be broken down....all costs for the monthly price they come up with.

I'm in NY and was offered this today.
Term: 36 Months
Monthly Payment: $358.80
MSRP: $29,920
Miles per Year: 15,000
Cap Cost Reduction: $26,915
Documentation Fees (set by NYS DMV): $67.50
Due at inception: $1980.00
Taxes (8.125% tax rate): $1045.48

The "due at inception" includes taxes and first month. I don't really need 15k miles so he told me he'd take off $20 a month for 10k.

Anyone know if this is a good deal?

Looking for opinions. This is the quote that I received on a 36mo/10k:

2009 TSX
$27,590 cap
.00198 rate
36/10K term
62% residual
$369.58 monthly
$595 bank acq fee
$394 tags & reg
$1358.58 due at signing

Certainly have not committed to this. Anyone with experience here, let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Another NY lease, but lacking a few details currently...

base TSX without tech package
term 36 month / 15k miles
cap cost, $27,000
fees: DMV fees... unknown as of now but likely $70ish
monthly payment: $348.05
Due at inception: acq fee + tax + 1st month

I've seen a similarly priced deal out there on the forum but someone mentioned that may have been for the tech package??? Anyway, the dealer said that as long as he has the car on the lot and doesn't have to go hunting for it I can get this deal here. If he were to have to go find it he would have to charge another fee in order to get a flat-bed to move the truck. Any idea if that seems right or should that be free in this price range still??
