#2073 of 3021 2010 TL Base lease
by jacktl

Just leased a 2010 TL FWD Base - Florida 34242:
36 months
10k mi/yr
MSRP $35,915
Cap Cost $31,878
Acq fee $580
Adj Cap Cost $32,458
Residual $21,908 (61%)
MF 0.00154 (3.7%)
Money down $ 2000 = Doc fees,Taxes, 1st mo, $305 cap cost redux; no sec/rtn
Monthly Pmt $ 367 + 7% tax ($26) = $393/mo
Hope this helps someone out there who considering leasing this vehicle!
I looked at a lot of cars over the past 2 months and this one is an absolute blast to drive even in the base version! I'm coming out of a CLK 430 Conv and this is one just makes me grin like a high school kid!
I'm upgrading the wheels/tires to the 18" in the aftermarket ($880 for 4 Acura 18" + $700 tires) as I couldn't justify the $4700+ difference for the Tech/18" package as well as the lower residual of 57%. (vs 61%) for the Tech/18". Also added dealer spoiler and mudguards to complete the Tech/18" "look".
Tech/18" Package was $492 + tax ($34) = $524/month with same $2000 upfront.
Happy hunting!!
PS - Thanks CarMan for your input in this forum. It stimulated me to do my homework, shop several dealers and be knowledgeable and prepared to walk from the deal if it wasn't right!
Keep up the great work!

Sorry to ask the same sort of question over and over, but does anyone have the current Honda Finance money factor and residual for a 2009 AWD w/ tech at 15K miles for 3 years?
I'm finding that there is still stock fitting that description at numerous dealers near me.
Thanks,
Greg

I've been leasing out an '08 TL for the past 15 months and VERY happy with it. A few days ago, I received a mailer from my original dealer's competitor saying they need my car so they can replenish their used/ pre-owned fleet and I'd be able to upgrade to a 2010 model for little or no extra $. I went yesterday to the dealer to see if this was too good to be true.
Long story short....
My leased 2008 TL is now theirs! They bought the '08 TL & terminated my lease.
I was paying $380/ mo including tax for 36 mos for 15k/ yr. By the way, I only had 14k miles on the car and that included two 600 mile road trips. I live close to my job and close to all my frequent destinations.
I now have a 2010 base TL for 399.99 a mo including tax for 36 mos for 12k miles/yr. I paid exactly $800 down including tag, 1st month, fees, etc. They originally wanted 2k down and $480/mo! I kept saying no & attempted to walk away several times because I was happy with my '08. I did not want to pay anything down, but the monthly payments would be too high for me.

Just got this quote from a local dealer, and am curious whether it seems like a "good" deal to anyone in the know...
Thank you for your recent request regarding leasing a 2010 Acura TL AWD with the Technology package! We appreciate the chance to earn your business in the purchase of your next TL. I have reviewed all of your requests and we have worked up our Internet Quote for you. Per your request for leasing with 2500 down - We would be selling (leasing ) the car for $40300, 36 month lease, 10,000 miles a year with $2500 total out of pocket - $515 plus tax!

It's ~$1500 over invoice, so it doesn't sound like a great deal. They also haven't told you what the residual or the money factor are, so it's a little hard to tell, but it doesn't sound great.
Why are you putting money down on a lease?

Greg,
Thanks for the response. Guess I had better go back and look at the invoice pricing on Edmunds then. It looked like closer to 500 over to me (which I can live with). As far as the money down... I just emailed the dealer and said I could put down whatver was required, since most manufacturer subsidized leases require some type of down payment.
#2081 of 3021 [Car_man] MF and Residual for TL AWD Tech in WA

Hi Car_man,
You are amazingly helpful here, thanks for all that you do, I am impressed with your tenacity!
I am looking for the money factor and residual percentage for a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD with Tech package in Washington state (zip is 98012). I noticed that there are 2 different lease programs for this car right now, but wasn't sure if WA has the good deal or not.
Thanks in advance!

I've been emailing with a couple of Acura dealerships here in Western WA. I got a price quote from both of them, and I got a MF and residual quote from the other, I'm still waiting to hear back on those items from the other dealer. Here are the initial offers.
2010 TL SH-AWD Tech
MSRP: $43,195
Price: $41,700
MF: .00201
Residual: 56% for 10k miles/yr 55% for 12k miles/year
The other dealer offered me $41,280 for their initial offer. I countered with $39730 (just below invoice+destination), and he quickly repeated the same offer and said he would get back to me on the MF and residual. Now, in Washington, we don't seem to get the deals that you lucky folks do back east, but I want to try to get a reasonable deal.
Note that both of these offers are below the ~$41,995 that Edmunds gives as the TMV price. I'm thinking that $40,300 is a fair price as it is about $400-500 above the invoice+destination price.
So, am I out of whack here and should take one of these less than TMV prices since I am in one of those areas, or am I lame and should be shooting for less than invoice?
Thanks for any advice, hope the MF and residual info are helpful to any folks in the Seattle area, don't seem to be too many of us on this forums.
