TL + Tech in South Florida (Broward) by neilkod

On a 2009 TL-Tech 12k miles 3 years

MSRP 39,445
Residual 57% $22,483
Lease Rate: .00220
Tax: 6%
Selling Cost - 35,000
nothing down, dealer wants $521/month.

I thought the selling cost was ok, especially compared to TMV, but am finding the dealers' claims a little sketchy-
they said the car's invoice was 36,627, but edmunds.com says the invoice is about $35.5.

It's both my first time leasing and my first Acura, so I'd love some help from the hive please.

Hi sosodef1. Thanks for taking the time to share the details of your lease with everyone. Sorry to hear about the bad experience that you had at that one dealership. If you want, you can tell an even wider audience about it by visiting the Dealer Ratings & Reviews section of Edmunds.com.

At least you got a great deal on the car that you wanted in the end. Enjoy your new ride !

Hi mds3133. You never mentioned how long you want to lease for or what mileage allowance you need, so for now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different.

Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Acura TL Tech 2WD with 15,000 miles per year are .00220 and 55%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

Hi getinmycar. Yes you can lease Acura vehicles for 24 months. Keep in mind though that the monthly payment for a two year lease will be significantly higher than it will be for a three year lease.

Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a base 2009 Acura TL with 15,000 miles per year are .00220 and 65%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Super Preferred" credit tier. The money factor for a lease with only 12,000 miles would be the same, but the residual value would be 1% higher.

Hi warpinc. The highest mileage allowance that Honda Finance publishes residual values for is 15,000 miles per year. When you say that you'll need 25,000 miles, I assume that you mean per year and not total over the life of your lease. Is that correct? If you do need to drive that much, you will have to purchase additional miles from Honda Finance on a per-mile basis. It is cheaper to do so at lease signing than it is to wait until lease-end and have to pay an excess mileage penalty.

Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Acura TL SH AWD with 15,000 miles per year are .00220 and 58%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its "Super Preferred" credit tier and pay a security deposit at lease signing. Again, if you need to drive more than this you will have to purchase additional miles on a per-mile basis.

Hi hsieh. Let's take a look at the selling price that you were quoted. There is a gap of $3,129 between this car's full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. Acura is providing $2,000 dealer cash on top of that, so there is a total of a little over $5,000 to play with during your negotiations. You were quoted a discount of $3,222 that you were quoted is still more than $1,700 over invoice. I suspect that you can do better than that. If I received this quote, I would try to negotiate more with this dealer or do some comparison shopping.

Is the $2000 cash from the manufacturer to dealer still available?? I looked at edmunds under incentives and didn't see the $2000 cash to dealer for TL, this was shown last month though.

Hi prijay. Yes, the dealer cash that was available on the 2009 TL is still around, $1,000 on the base model and $2,000 on the TL Tech.

I am looking to lease a 2009 Acura TL 4D Sedan - 6 cyl.

The dealer gave me a copy of the LeaseScan for Windows with the following numbers:

MSRP = 35715
Selling Price = 31895
Residual = 21,786
36 month lease - 10K miles per year
$875 down payment + first month payment = $1400.

Monthly payment is $417.89

Is this a good deal? How do I know?
