I secured the deal with Open road acura in East brunswick. I received similar deals with Park Ave in Rochelle and in Open road in Wayne. I suggest you go to edmunds.com. Submit a quote with your needs. It best to come in as a Internet Lead because dealership knows that Internet customers tend to have more information on deals, etc. George

again, do not overwhelm them with to what you know...you will have to gradually use all this information during the negiotation process. It took me about an hour each to get them below invoice. GOOD Luck

Leasing and what really matters... by sftl1

OK, I've read enough about how many people think it so important to know what the invoice cost is, what the holdback is, the residual, the dealers cost of accessories and on & on & on. Does it really make a difference? Not at all.

When you lease, you're buying a monthly payment and paying transaction cost to get into that payment (sometimes out of it as well). This is the dealers business, not ours. We're not going to out smart the dealer at his own game. I can and have negotiated with a dealer knowing more information about a particular vehicle than I've ever wanted know. At the end of the day, if that dealer is not willing to sell me the car I'm interested in below a minimum margin they want to make, I'm not going to convince them otherwise no matter how many car facts I happen to know.

I prefer to have multiple dealers do my battling for me. As I said, the dealers are the experts at their game, so I put the experts together so they may battle it out and crunch the numbers and I can sort through it all when the dust settles.

This forum is also an excellent tool since we're able view deals from around the country that others have negotiated, so we're able to get real numbers that also help us with negotiations.

'08 Base TL Lease Deal - New England by adfreak

So far the best lease deal I have on the table for a base TL is...

36 months with 12K miles/year

Total out of pocket: $1,134.85 ($401.90 first payment, 47.95 tax, $90 plates and reg fee's, and $595 acquisition fee)

Monthly payment: $401.90 (includes 7% sales tax)

Question: Is this a good deal for the area or can I do better? I think I can get to the same monthly payment with zero money down or at least get to a TOTAL monthly payment of about $375 with the $1,100 +/- cash down at signing.

Any thoughts? I'm not in a huge hurry to make the deal, but if this is as good as it's going to get...

Thanks!

Base TL from Long Island, NY by iioneosixii

36 months with 15k miles/year. He said this is based on selling the car at invoice which he said that he really didn't want to do, but will because who knows. Lets just say its because he's a nice guy that was doing me a favor which he was pretending to do. I feel that I can get below invoice on this car especially because a new body style is coming out for 2009.

Monthly Payment- $387.69
Purchase Option: $18,597
First month payment + taxes and fees paid upfront including: $595 acq fee+ $105 (inspection, title, doc) + 1231.22 (NYS taxes) + 387.69 (first month)= 2,318.91 upfront.

I forget the exact residual value, however the MF was .0045. He also quoted me for TL with Nav for $421 using the same sale price (at invoice). Do you guys think its possible to get a better deal?

TL Type-S Lease in Dallas/Fort Worth by soylentgreen

I finally got my lease numbers and should be picking up the car in 2 days.

08 TL Type-S Auto
MSRP $38,940
Cap cost $36,250
Residual 53% (20,638)
36 months/12K miles
MF = 1.04

Total OOP = $803 (includes 1st month's payment)
$470 (with tax) /month

Initially the offer was 505-510/month, $1000 OOP but pitting dealer against dealer lowered everything.

How is this compared to other Type-S leases out there?

I'm not really worried about the final price of the car since I got them to get the payments exactly where I wanted them.

Looks like a good number for the TL-S. I'm still working my lease for a TL w/Nav. The best thus far has been $457 per month including PA 9% tax for a 36 mo. lease at 15K per yr. and $1250 out of pocket at delivery. Hoping to have a deal done by the end of week.

What dealer in PA did you get that deal from? Chester County anywhere?
I am looking at the TL also with Nav and without and think the 487/month I got is a bit high for With Nav.

Metro in Phila. Montgomeryville Acura quoted just $5 more a month, but they may be moved down a little. I have another dealer who's telling me they can beat Metro by a couple bucks a months, but we've been playing phone tag, so I'll let you know what happens once I speak with them.

It seems to me that dealers must factor a $dollar premium buyers are willing to pay for the convenience factor of buying close to home. As with the Acura I'm shopping now as well as my current BMW that's coming off lease, I've shopped dealers that are owned by the same company. In both cases, the dealer furthest from my home has always given me the best quote.
