Leased an MDX with Tech today, 36 months, 10k per year:
47,500 - MSRP
40,355 - Cap Cost
595 - Acq Fee
399 - Dealer Proc Fee
63 - Registration Fees
400 - Roof Rails at cost
3% - VA tax
.0009 - mf
55% - residual
1,811 - down pmt (positive equity from trade... more on that later)
$510 mo. payment.
What I think made this a really good deal was the trade they gave me ($2K over what Carmax had offered on my 2010 Honda Odyssey) and the fact that they threw in all weather mats, the really nice running boards, and four free oil changes (with synthetic) for free. They offered to do this or waive the acquisition fee. I asked which was more expensive and obviously the running boards and all weather mats were.
Also, when doing financing, most dealers try and sell you on additional warranty items, tire protection packages, dent packages, etc. Because I was a Honda Financial customer, I was offered one of these services for free! So, I picked the dent protection package. It included any dings, scratches or rim damage.
Felt like I got a really good deal and was treated very fairly. Rainy day here in VA, so business was obviously slow. Took them a long time to get me through the process, but that was my only complaint.
Dealer was Pohanka Acura.

Is it me or is that monthly pmt a bit high with those numbers. I'm coming up with a pmt around $480. And that's if you financed the additional $400 roof rail option. If you paid cash for that, or if that was already part of the $40355 cap it's more like $468. Was there anything else that impacted the deal that you didn't itemize? Or, maybe I just fatfingered something.

You know... I looked at that last night. I'm going to review the paperwork this evening to see where the variance is.

Found the issue. The quoted price had the Acura Customer Loyalty incentive included. However, that was taken out during financing because I had a Honda trade vs. Acura trade. They charged me for the dent program and the credit never applied because it was a Honda vs. Acura. Went to the dealership this morning and all is fixed. They reduced the price by another $1,000 and let me keep the dent program. Also threw in an extra oil chainge.
Thanks Pohanka for your great customer service! This is why I buy from Pohanka. Great prices and very fair.

Good....glad it worked out. The pmt didn't make sense otherwise. Agree, pohanka is great place to purchase. Just make sure they pay off your trade. The GM over there is close to getting an ugly call from me, as they're dragging on paying mine off and ignoring my calls about the issue. I traded in two cars after purchasing a used car and leased a new MDX from them, and they haven't sent the payoff yet after MANY days have passed after the deals had closed for either car, which has cost me money.

Usually I'm not the type to post or anything like that, but I found that edmunds is helping me a lot with my lease search.
I got quoted at first dealer for 2012 MDX Base model for $2000 at signing $475 a month with all fees included. Thoought it was a pretty good deal and was about to sign but crunched the numbers they gave me on edmunds calculator and found some difference.
Contacted 2 other dealers and got back these quotes over the phone
$1689/ $437 a month
$2541/ 393 a month
Both deals I qualify for the $1000 conquest
Going to the second dealer today and see if the deal is real.
Both cars was quoted 2500-3000 under invoice.
I live in the NYC area

Yep... I had that same problem with my trade last time around with them. They tried to get me to pay more because it took them a while to get it paid off. Told them no way, you put a two week lead time in your payoff quote, so get it done within two weeks.
#2426 of 2813 Excellent nj lease?
Jun 16, 2012 (10:22 am)
Your service is phenomenal, and threads like this really level the playing field when buying a car. Does the following deal look like a competitive offer compared to the market (I'm in nj) for a base mdx
Msrp - 43,895
Money factor- .0009
Residual - 57%
36 months / 10k miles
I was offered a pmt of $400 month with $3000 due all-in at closing, which includes tax. Funny because they were very evasive regarding cap cost, which should indicate a problem - they wanted to just deal with "monthly pmt", another warning sign. But I played their game and hammered them down to the above deal, which appears excellent to me. Thoughts?
