Ditto.

An alternative to consider is the Roush stage 3, which includes a supercharger. Trouble is, imo, the Roush's are overdressed. Also, not sure the 4.6 L engine was built for supercharging. Could drive it to an early grave.

The 04 and older mustangs compared to the 05 and newer mustangs are like night and day. There is no comparison. The 05 and newer are a much, much, much better! They are a lot more solid and have a lot more power.

I understand what you are saying about your 02. Compared to the 05 and newer you are 100% correct. The older ones are and feel a lot cheaper made in construction.

Have you driven the new mustang at all? Drive your 02 and then go drive a new GT Mustang. It will be like night and day between the two.

As for the Roush, I don't personally care for the look for what they cost. I personally like the look of the Saleen a LOT better and for the money.

I believe that you can take the look of the Roush or leave it and still get the power upgrades.

Yeah, you can get the performance upgrades without all the gawdy bodywork.

But what about the issue of supercharging an engine not designed to be supercharged? Do you think it can bring on a whole host of problems? (The GT's 4.6 liter small block seems just right, pretty sweet the way it is.) After all, the supercharged GT 500 has an entirely different engine, cast iron as opposed to aluminum, 32 as opposed to 24 valves, more displacement, etc -- it's basically a Ford truck engine.

Apparently supercharging it is no big deal as the supercharged Roush still carries the same 3/36 warranty as every other Mustang. The same applies to the Saleen Mustangs. Both use the standard 4.6L V8 in the Mustang GT.

Oil Change by rheller

How difficult is it to access the oil filter on the new Shelby GT500? Does it require a lift bay? I prefer to do my own oil changes.

Some careless mechanic stripped the oil pan drain plug on my 68 GT 500 way back when.

You are a lot skinnier than me.

I'd be scared to ramp it with the low chin.
