what dealer has the lease returns???? there is one dealer with a ton of 2008's and 2009's - basically what ever choice you want on the 2008 auto/ manual 4X2 4X4 off-road/ rear wheel drive.... i would contact them and see if the 2008's will have any special insentives.. the numbers came out for 1'st quarter sales and they where horrible.. can they do a employee discount price?????   the dealers web-site is www.chandlernissan.com Replies to this message: dat2 (Apr 05, 2009 7:56 pm)

Hello everyone and I was thinking about purchasing a new Forrester until I saw a local dealer offering a $4000.00 discount on new 2009 Xteras.     That would compensate for the bad gas milage. I very much want to use the vehicle for off road.     I have not checked yet but the rebate may be contingent on financing through their company.     Has anyone done better than $4000.00? I was quoted $20,500 for a 08 SE demo with only 4,000 miles. I was told it was a loner car and the service manager is currently driving it. Should I stay clear...I'm concerned about it being "beat on"...but would that really be the case with someone getting a loner for a day or 2?   I was also quoted $26,200 for a 09 SE, $155 under invoice, but not the color I want. The 08 is dessert stone(the color I prefer) and can't be found anywhere in my area.   Is $5,700 difference for the 08 worth it? Replying to: pondview (Jun 20, 2009 3:48 pm) I don't think the X is a vehicle that really encourages heavy flogging. That being said you need to find out what equipment it has and is it a 4x4 or 4x2. Then price up a new one and compare the prices. If it's a SE model that stickers for 25 grand, then no that's not a good price. If it's loaded and would normally sticker for 30 grand or more, than yes it's a very good price. Also, I think the 09 model has some new equipment standard that was previously optional, not sure exactly. Good luck! Also a good place to check the going market value is just by looking at carmax.com and see what a similar vehicle is selling for, since you know those are eventually selling prices at carmax. If you can get a few grand below carmax prices from a dealer than you're in pretty good shape.
