im looking to get a 1987 iroc and put a 375 hp 327 in it ......or a 383......but i realy like the 327.....havent done this big of a hp change to a car .....ive put stock motors in before ....what do i need to be carfull of ...i asume a rebuilt trans is needed or even a new all together will the stock 5 speed hold up.....how hard is it going to put the motor in ....will it drop in with the proper mounts ....
need the help thanks

Your question is really huge. You have to do some homework first to know which questions to ask I think
Might I suggest you start with a book on the theories of Chevy small block power, such as:
John Lingenfelter on Modifying Small-Block Chevy Engines
Once you know what engine you are building/installing, then you can go to the next steps in planning how the transmission, suspension and brakes may need to cope with the amount of power you are adding.
Nothing worse than starting an engine mod project with no game plan--that always ends up in a botch I think.
So do some reading, and also check the newsstand for magazines like Chevy Performance Magazine, etc.
You might also use the "Seach Forums" drop window on the left and use the keyword "Camaro" to check in with other Camaro owners and find out what they may have done to their cars.
