I asked the 2 locals dealers today about any changes for the '07MY, and I was told that Mazda is being very tight lipped about the changes, that they usually find out by end of April any changes to the vehicle so they can push the current model year before local public finds out about changes. I was told by 1 of the 2 that there may be a 215hp V6 from the Mazda6 being added to the upcoming Grand Touring trim level, and was also hinted at a Speed5 trim between the Sport and Touring Trims, so there would be 4 trim levels in all (Sport, Speed5, Touring, Grand Touring). I guess we will need to wait to see if any is true or not.
The Mazda5 is still on my list of vehicles, and the v6 would be a selling point for my wife when the time comes to decide on vehicle.

...with the few noted exceptions above. (Needs a 5-speed auto, passenger arm rest, + modify a few trim details (the dreaded sills!)). I like that it's meeting or in many cases exceeding it's rated fuel economy. Like the reasonable price (V6 Grant Touring would probably be getting pricey). A lighter interior colour would be nice.
Euro roof rails, ipod jack etc. but that's about it. Maybe self-levelling rear suspension like the upcoming Kia Rondo is supposed to have. Hope we'll hear something soon!

I was monitoring this forum for a while, but there is much more activity in the Mazda 5 forum on mpvclub.com and msprotege.com
As far as the Aux imput for the stereo goes, you can get something called Auxmod for around $50 (auxmod basic) that will allow you to connec an MP3 player through the media button on the stock stereo. They are curently build an Zuxmod advanced that will display information from your Ipod on the stock stereo display, and control the Ipod from the steering wheel controls. I've seen it without the side sills but I don't think it looks good. It would be nice to see the airbags make it to the GS level. And the really kewl setup they have in Europe for a trailer hitch!
#908 of 1387 Will "the 5" fit two large dogs?

It's really hard to tell the actual size of the cargo space from the #s and the photos, etc.
If I fold down the back seats and one of the rear passenger seats - any possibility of fitting two medium sized irish wolfhounds in the back? (they are a tad larger than your average great dane and each weight about 150 pounds).
What about with all 4 rear seats folded down - is the platform flat to be usable for doggy carrying?
Have a honda odyssey now and looking to replace it - going to a sienna. It would be fun to have the manual 5 speed and the mileage improvement over the honda or sienna would be a big plus. Plus the wife wouldn't feel like she was "driving a mini-van" if she could bang through the gears with the manual 5 speed. Does the manual get better mileage than the automatic? What are the #s folks are seeing with the manual transmission?

They should fit. They better part would be to also remove the middle seats for a lower step in height for them. My father-in-law had an irish wolfhound that developed hip dysplasia and needed a ramp to get into the back of his Forester. As any larger breed dag, the hips and rear legs become more fragile and the lower height would be perfect. Plus without the middle seats, they would have even more room for laying down on the floor (or get a large sheepskin bed). This way you can also have the rear seat up incase somebody would need to ride back there.

Mazda 5 is the most popular 3-row vehicle by a wide margin here. They are everywhere! Notably, Mazda3 is the best-selling car in that country.

How do they currently fit in your Odyssey, which is a lot bigger than the 5. If you had a lot of extra space for them with the Odyssey, that's one thing, but if they fit pretty good in the Odyssey then although they might fit into the 5, it will be tight for them.

was checking out the local Sunday paper's Auto section (like I do every week) and noticed an add for a dealer that had the Mazda MPV and 5 both listed and both with the same MPV picture. But the funny part was they decreased the size of the 5's mpv picture to make it look smaller.

I just went to check out the M5 last week. The dealer only mentioned the 07 warranty will be 3yr/36k instead of 4yr/50k.
Yeah, I want it with V6 if it doesn't eat too much more gas and the price stays reasonable.

Your dealer is correct....2007 warranty will be 3/36 bumper to bumper and 5/60K powertrain.
